If there's one thing that I'm certain of that Tuchel has over Nagelsmann, it's that he's better at setting up his team to defend

And especially for NT matches, that's much, much more important than scoring

[–] julesvr5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The Nagelsmann compilation was great

[–] koobediug@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nagelsmann : Maybe I should go on a holiday. What could go wrong ?

[–] sc2isalivegaem@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Always knew sane was a Bayern man through and through

[–] footysocc@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

man we will get cooked next year lmao

[–] SNAKE0789@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It is going to take a coach to say fuck it, we going full turtle and park the bus in order to save this team.

Sit back and hit on counter when possible.

[–] xnxthemx@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you take some elementary school kids I bet they defend better than this team, no offense but you're against Schmid and Baumgartner, not fucking Mbappe and Griezmann.

The austrian commentators are really happy, but they feel so sorry for Germany that they can't even gloat properly

[–] julesvr5@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Honestly, after this performance 2:0 isn't really a great result for Austria either

[–] Hurtelknut@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Kimmich is so good when he is allowed to roam around offensively instead of being pinned down as the pivot

[–] irun_mon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

First thing Gündo does in the first interview is bring up Sané's red card.

Great captain.

As a dual citizen that used to be a die hard fan of the German NT, I really stopped giving a shit about them in the course of the last few years. They are just too frustrating to watch. No dedication, no energy, no game plan. Unexplainable coaching decisions. Good thing that Austria is finally a team I enjoy watching under Rangnick. God, was it awful under Foda.

The result today is really no surprise. It was clear that Austria would play like it's a World Cup final and they are a legit team. Can't win against an opponent like that with the German approach of "when someone passes to me, I'm just going to wait until the ball reaches me to save energy".

Flick wasn't the issue with this squad, I am not sure exactly what it is because I am no professional. But the football isn't attractive.

Flicks flaw was he though he could run it the way he did bayern, but that group had been together for so long and so much chemistry. Everyone knew their role in the club, the leaders were defined, the football was well defined and you knew how bayern were going to play, and it was unstoppable.

What benefited Germany for so long was a seamless transition of players. It seemed as though as players got older and were on the decline, they were still present to reinforce culture and the were replaced by players who knew what was expected based on their predecessors. We never saw Boateng and Hummels pass the torch because they were excluded, and now the defending of Germany really has no identity.

[–] miorli@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Well, that was kind of bad, wasn't it. We are in a very strange situation. I remember times when we didn't really have the players to match the best teams in the world and still we had some success. Nowadays, we seem to have some decent players who just happen to not be able to play together and our staff is trying to find those 11 who somehow can for years now.

[–] butterbe4n@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

At least sane gets to rest next int game whenever that is

[–] First_Mechanic9140@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Now the heck did they embarrass the USMNT so bad.

[–] Ryoman-Sukuna007@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It’s so weird that all the players that Germany have right now, they are performing really good on club level but when it comes to the national teams, there is no chemistry at all.

Talking about what happened with Sané yesterday, I agree that it was completely unacceptable what he did but at the same time that Austrian player should have been booked as well because it was him who punched Sané first.

[–] Insanel0l@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ngl that was shitty by Sané but I would be just as pissed if I had to go from Tuchelball with Kane upfront to JN and fucking Füllkrug

[–] HGSparda@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

From what I see, they don't seem to want to play for the National team. They play half-heartedly, jogging instead of running, CB going too far forward, they keep doing silly and reckless but costly mistakes. What we saw on Turkey and Austria matches is that they don't want to be there, it's clear as day. They put only like 30% instead of 100. Not sure if it's because they don't want to get injured or they just don't like each other, or they don't like the manager or the DFB itself. Something needs to be investigated regarding this if German still wants the Euro or World Cup trophy.

[–] retox35@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Rüdiger gets the armband really? Ridiculous

[–] xTatamo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

it really is unfair sabi, laimer and schlager is some midfield of all time, no one of them gives up on anything and then you have leon and gündo

[–] jsnamaok@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nice to see Andrich on. The guy is a warrior.
