Would love to know. I always believed him to be a good player and great to have around, but didn’t quite fit into our plans nor with our coaches because of tactical misfits

I can't remember any crazy stories from his two years with us, it mostly seemed like he was working decently in training, it just never worked out in practice. Usually these days even private matters get leaked at some point by some journos/agents working for either side.

he’s still young, not like he can’t reinvent himself.

I believe we wanted him last year but even Real Madrid did not want him to sign permanently and wanted a loan with no buy option, which we refused.

They spent a lot of money on him. They're probably not ready to cut their losses quite yet - if he can find 1 good season on loan his value for sale will recover a bit. And if he can find 2 good seasons there's the possibility of him becoming a squad member for depth or being sold for close to no loss.
