Seems like a great price for a well-regarded IEM, however the supposed QC issues (sound cutting out, driver failure, etc.) are making me second-guess myself.

To those who own the IE 600 (or any IEM from the IE series for that matter), what has your experience been like in terms of reliability? Is it worth the risk?

Haven't had an issue with driver failures, the cable does have a very flimsy mmcx connection. One IEM may be more loose on one side than the other but you just have to press into the connection from the IEM to get a better seal, I do that and I never have problems with audio cutting out.

But if the mmcx port is too weak, Sennheiser will almost always just ship you a new pair if you send it to them.

The IEMs themselves are built excellently and connect just fine. And they sound phenomenal, definitely worth having to deal with fiddly cables every now and again.

I had two pair. The first would have the sound pop occasionally in the left ear. If I disconnected and then reconnecting the MMCX, it would fix it temporarily for a few days. I only used that pair for two weeks before deciding to send it back.

My second pair hasn't had any issues. I've used them almost almost daily for 4-5 months so far.

Never had any issues with IE100 nor IE200. IE600 came with one cable busted, but drivers seem good (so far). The sound is really good, for $400 USD it’s worth taking a risk imo

Have been using my ie600 for 5 months and still going strong. Love the sound. Was using stock foam tips and just now started using dunu s&s tips, which I highly recommend trying if you do go forward with the purchase!
