I’ve been collecting watches for the last 8 months. I have around 40 watches, and here are 16 of them. My favourites among them are the 1970 Datejust and the 1969 Universal Polerouter. I’m quite a thrifty guy, so besides a few splurges, most of them are below $200. I like vintage watches and tinker with them as a hobby. What other watches should I look out for?

What's bottom right?

I kindly ask you to hand over that Zenith… stunning watch. Love the eterna too, have a 1960s Eterna KonTiki myself (on my profile). What about adding another vintage Chronograph as I only see one there? Something with an Excelsior Park or Valjoux movement?

WOW. Stunning.

The Piaget is so cool.

Wait - I don't understand. Wonderful watches, but how did you get a Rolex / Speedy / Universal for sub $200? By all means, share your secrets!

40 watches in 8 months? How?

Love these, some of those dials are stunning. Where do you mostly hunt for vintage?

What's your go-to source for finding vintage watches? Ebay? Chrono24?

That’s why I’ve picked up watchmaking as a hobby. I can take them apart and replace parts as needed

Fantastic collection! Some real beauties in there. Particularly like the Vulcain, the Polerouter, and the Record.

Vintage Longines has some great value too – they put out some amazing designs from the 1940s through to the 1970s.

First time that I see same dial online, though this ones case is gilded. This is my late grandfathers watch he got in I believe 1968.

Nice I’ve just sold a Helvetia with the 831 movement. It’s an in-house movement as well, one of the last from Helvetia before they switched over to ETA

I love the font on ETERNA. Kind of an old horror movies poster vibe.

[–] chrizman2001@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Yes, they have the coolest font among all the watches I have. Art Nouveau meets Bauhaus?

[–] metsurf@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I have one of similar vintage with numerals also in a similar font . I can’t figure out how to post a picture from an iPad even in desktop view though.
