Jus my lil SNEEZY HD6xx WHEEZIN out some tchunes mate
Y'all out there paying hundreds of dollars for cans when they literally grow on trees.
Where can I find those trees?
What is Sneharizer ?
Where is Sneharizer ?
Who is Sneharizer?
Did you sneeze trying to spell Sennheiser?
My daily driver for the past 2 years has been a 400se stealth
What content do you use it on? What do you dislike about them? How big is your head and do you wear glasses? How long do they stay on during your use per day?
My first pair lasted 5 days and my second pair lasted 4 weeks.
I personally never experienced any Hifiman QC issues, neither with the Ananda (after years of heavy use) nor the HE1000se (bought more recently), or the HE1000 Stealth I owned in between. To me, the build of their cans is maybe nothing to rave about, but definitely more than "good enough". If you take care of your headphones, those should entertain you for years to come.
Planars in general are more fragile than dynamic drivers, but that can be largely mitigated by just simply taking care of them. And while hifiman is famous for its shitty QC, most of the issues that come from that are going to make themselves known while headphones are still in warranty
Planars are so fragile that it causes the headband to break!
Ole mate sneharry
I've had my Sundaras for 3 years now and they work and sound just as good as the day that I bought them.
Which do you prefer, the Ananda or the Edition XS? I see both of them are around $400 right now so I was curious of the major differences you noticed (with sound, not fit).
I have both the Edition XS and the Sundaras. I think the Sundara headphones fit better, the XS are very big. The Edition XS has better sound staging and sound slightly cleaner in my opinion.
Nice, thanks for your feedback. I've got lots of add-on headband pads that may fix the size issue, so I might jump on the XS soon.
If you do you'll have to let me know which headphone pads help with this. Enjoy!
For sure, if I do I'll remember to get back to you and let you know.
You wonβt regret it. I have the XS and the new Arya organic and the gap is rather small. I mainly use the Arya at home and use the XS when traveling or in the office.
Also good to know, thanks!
Iβve had a 400se for a year now and I honestly donβt think Iβm gonna haven them much longer they already feel tired
Bought a pair of used Sundaraβs had them for 5 years and sold them when I moved.
I had zero issues with them.
I've had my HE-560 since 2015, still going fine except the headband is worn and needs to be replaced.
Had the original HE-560 with the shit connectors for 8 years. Still going although the connectors sometime give me probs.
If you take care of them they will be fine. You have to baby them.
I had shared something similar in the past, so here is an updated list:
- HE400 - Bought used in 2018, gifted to a friend in 2019 and still working today
- HE400i - Bought used in 2016, sold in 2017 (unsure of current status)
- HE400se - Bought new in 2021, gifted to a friend in 2022 and still working today
- HE500 - Oldest pair I own. Bought used in 2018 (original owner bought new in 2012), still working today
- HE6se v2 - Bought new in 2021, still working today
- Sundara - Bought new in 2020, still working today
- Sundara Closed Back - Bought two weeks ago, and no issues at all
- Ananda (non-Stealth) - Bought open box in 2020, traded in to Hifiman in August 2022 for HE1000 v2
- Arya v3 - Bought open box January 2022, still working today, but will likely trade in for something else
- HE1000 v2 (non-Stealh) - Received brand new from Ananda trade-in, in August 2022, still working today
- Susvara - Bought used February 2022 (original owner bought in 2021), still working today
Who knows? Maybe I am the luckiest person alive to have no major problems to speak of, when it comes to Hifiman headphones - and doubly so with the "French Hifiman" brand, aka. Focal. ;)
On a serious note, and to be crystal clear, I'm not saying they don't have QC issues (because they certainly do), I'm just saying that the likelihood of running into them is not as likely as the Internet makes it out to be. However, this is why it is always best to purchase from retailers that offer an easy return process, in genreal - no matter what brand you are buying.
What are your thoughts on the HE6se v2? I've had a similar history with hfm other than susvara π₯²
I still like them very much. They don't get as much listening time as they used to, but whenever I put them on, I tend to keep them on for long bouts of time. It's probably one of the few modern Hifiman headphones that actually has punch/slam that comes close to that of Focal headphones, making them quite engaging and enjoyable. For me, no EQ tweaks are needed, as they sound great they way they are - but more on this later.
As you're probably aware, they are quite hard to drive, but given how cheap and plentiful headphone amp power has gotten, it's not as out of reach as things used to be. If it makes any difference, I was able to pick up a bunch of Cavalli amps last year that were being liquidated between eBay and Monoprice sales, and regularly swap between the Massdrop x Carbon X, Monolith Liquid Platinum, or sometimes Monolith Liquid Gold. Even with the Susvara, I'm not wanting for more in terms of source gear, with either of these headphones.
I should note that mine are outfitted with a leftover HE560 v3 headband from Adorama (back when they were still available), which made a huge difference for comfort, and also have the HE400s Velpads that I tend to use for most of the circular Hifiman headphones. The stock headband was horrendous for my head shape, as it gave me aching pains at the very tippy top of my skull, right where the foam padding rested. The Velpads also generally tend to give a little more warmth and bloom to the sound, that I enjoy so much. So take what I say with as much salt as needed. :)
This should be answering your question roughtly.
how are you posting this reddit told me they self destruct instantly
I've owned 4 different hifimans over the years, going back to the original HE400 I bought in 2014 or 2015. The only issue I've had was one of the arms snapping on a pair of HE560, but I got replacements for free from hifiman within the week. No other issues
MFer you have a headphone tree?
Theyre gonna last a couple of years, tops. My Ed XS died after 18 monthsπ€¬
My Sundaras broke after a couple of months
HE 400i 2020 here no issue, 10h+ of usage/day.
Only replaced the Cable for something more sturdy and changed the earpad since the PU of the original fall off in one summer. Changed them for some Brainwavz XL Hybrid and no big degradation for the last 2 years.
For the headband I was already using a Geekria Knit Fabric on my previous headphone ( m70x) ( that one breaked nearly completely ( the hinge) on both side in about 2 years.
Since the headpad of my He 400i 2020 never really touched my head, the PU is still in good shape, like brand new..
Edition XS going strong for 1.5 years so far, just the left earcup swivel is a bit more loose than the right earcup since the day I bought it
my Deva Pro lasted barely over a year on ALMOST no use (10 times tops?), then left driver died. I own but barely use the Sundara too, (sound not to my taste).
Meanwhile, my oldest headphone still around, a Senn Momentum 1 (7 or 8 years old?) is still going strong.
none of my Senns, Beyers, Grados, Audeze and even Meze have ever failed. Just the Deva (I also needed to have its DAC/Receiver replaced while under warranty)

I'm never EVER buying another hifi-man again
I had two hifiman and both resulted in bad experience. The first one was HE4XX and the bands holding the cups keep coming loose and eventually break just couple months in.
My second hifiman was XS, which I got yesterday. Out of the box, the left ear has no sound. I'm not sure if its the cables or the cups but this sucks. Going to return them after the holidays.
