A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

I recently bought an old Fujifilm F47fd. It works fine, but then I realized I needed and old Fujifilm picture card in order to store more than two photos… and man, it was hard to find.

Now I am stranded because I was stupid and do not know how to download my photos. Do I need an old picture card reader? Or could the camera be connected through a cable to a pc to download the pictures?

From what I can tell you can use SD and SDHC cards (after firmware update).

To me using a card reader is always more reliable than plugging the camera into the computer, especially with older cameras. Sure it might work now, but an update to Windows could break compatibility. Also a card reader is probably faster.
