Welcome to a Star Trek community where you’re free to chat and share your opinions about all things Trek!

I want to have a place where fans can come to praise, discuss, and even criticise things in the Star Trek franchise. No show or movie is perfect, and I don't believe people should be silenced for having a dissenting opinion. That being said, there are still a few rules.

Be Nice - No personal attacks. You can disagree with someone's opinion, but it needs to stop there.

No Slurs - This is applicable to ethnicity, religion, gender, or anything else.

No Adult Content - Keep it family friendly.

No Spamming or Trolling - Consistently spamming comments or trolling is just not needed.

Please keep topics Trek related or Trek adjacent for the most part, and have fun!

Typical Star Trek episode with brutality against Red Shirts. j/k

From the moment Gamble tried to touch the M'Kroon and chat him up I knew he was going to be a problem on the away team.

The ancient text overlaying in Sick Bay was very reminiscent of the Sphere taking over Discovery. I do not think this is the last we will be seeing the Vezda.

I told my wife when we first saw Gamble introduced that he was like one of those characters on the older shows that the entire crew suddenly knows really well, even though it's their first episode. They're as doomed as a detective one week from retirement!

I don't think we'll be seeing the last of them either. I'm guessing probably the season finale, but we'll see.

I could not remember if we had seen Gamble prior to when we met him. But I did think it was odd how well the entire crew seemed to know him immediately.

He appeared on episodes 2 through 5 this season, but the way they were especially playing up M'Benga's relationship with him in episode 2 made me immediately suspect he wasn't going to survive long. I was honestly surprised it took that long, I had figured it would be the zombie episode.

I thought we would lose M'Benga to make way for McCoy in that episode. I know Bones is in s1e1 of TOS, but I have never looked further into his past to see if he ever served with Pike.

M'Benga actually appears on two episodes of TOS if I remember right, so he's got some plot armor! On the episode A Private Little War, he's the doctor that is slapping Spock to help bring him out of his Vulcan healing coma.

I had no idea! S2E19 and S3E17. Those are moving up on our watch list!

He's not a main character in those episodes by any stretch, but it's interesting to see him outside of SNW!

There's a lot of implied time passing in between episodes where familiarity was bred.
