So the Lakers held on to guys like Kobe and Pau for too long past their primes after their 2009-2010 run and they ended up getting nothing for them and were mediocre for years. They were fortunate Lebron wanted to go there but it’s very clear that the 2020 run was the only title they were getting out of it. Instead of trading Lebron and AD for picks again the Lakers just want these guys to retire Lakers instead of starting the eventual rebuild earlier.

Spurs last run was 2014. But they doubled down with Lamarcus Aldridge. Held on to Tony, Manu and Duncan till the end. And only now in 2023 almost a decade later have they finally drafted a new franchise cornerstone player in Wemby. But it’s still going to take a few years.

Warriors last run obviously 2022. Last year showed how much they have declined. Yet bring in old Chris Paul with Klay and his shot knees. Why not trade Draymond and Curry while they have something left?

Warriors need draft picks. The sooner they begin the rebuild the sooner they will be back. This ain’t a championship team.

Spurs had a 24 year old superstar on the rise when they signed LMA. The 2016 Spurs won 67 games and were 40-1 at home only losing to the Warriors

You'll never get another franchise player if you mistreat your franchise players. Sometimes a part of winning a chip is showing those guys the respect they deserve in their Twilights before making another tilt at another ring

They want easy solutions and I get it, Steph in his Prime, don’t want to lose him to another team.

The Knicks bailed on their Finals squads before they got old and have spent the next 20 years being irrelevant for all but 1 maybe 2 seasons.

[–] Key_Consequence9343@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Doesn’t matter if the warriors don’t win a chip for another 20 years. U never trade curry and treat him with utmost respect. That’s how you build a culture and a fan base

This isn't 2k.

You don’t just blow up a dynasty, the warriors can blow up their entire group from curry down and they will have less than a 1% chance of getting anyone even close to curry’s level. He already won then 4 championships im sure warriors fans would rather see him get old and fall off than trade him.

Even our current roster I would rather keeping running it back until we can’t anymore, we have a better chance of being trash and landing free agents that rival our current core over getting any picks that will turn into anything better than a duo of current bron and ad from a trade.

Lmao GSW fans would burn the arena down if they ever see Steph in a different jersey.

[–] CrissCrossAppleSos@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Using your logic, the Warriors very likely wouldn’t have won in 2022

Pro teams have two goals, winning championships and making money. Even if you can no longer win a championship you can still make a ton of money if you have marquee players. So no, ride those aging stars into the sunset. It is the right move.

If they can’t host playoff games because they aren’t good enough to make the playoffs how do they make more money?

[–] lobotomizedmommy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

bro never heard of how the league shares money with every team

[–] LiquidSunshine2348@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah all that money rolling in is probably killing them

[–] funinthesun17@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

bro thinks he’s a gm

[–] mikeynerd@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No, I think you're overreacting to a bad start. Clearing out the core to a dynasty mid-season would go down as one of the stupidest moves ever.

[–] Last_chance_23@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I want whatever OP is smoking. So many bad takes in so little space.

[–] Balls_of_Adamanthium@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

OP at good food and started speaking nonsense 🤣

[–] GreaterVoyage27@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think you’re delusional

[–] Le4-6Mafia@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yea Lakers definitely should’ve blown it up and traded Lebron James the greatest player ever for sure for sure

[–] lostacoshermanos@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

He’s not Lebron the greatest ever anymore. Other guys have past him. That’s like saying 2016 Kobe was 1999-2013 era Kobe.

[–] Le4-6Mafia@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

2016 Kobe averaged 18-3-2 and led the Lakers to a stellar 17-65 record. 2022 Lebron averaged 29-8-7 and went to the WCF. One of these two is not like the other.

[–] Head-Kiwi-9601@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The warriors are irrelevant. I don’t think about them at all.

[–] golden_glorious_ass@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

sometimes opinions should be kept to yourself

[–] noodlebball@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'll go down the Draymond, Klay, and Curry until the end.

[–] cirierobbed@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Nursing home is so fucking funny

[–] Realistic-Dust-3257@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Weren't lakers in the conference finals last year with I juries? Didn't warriors win the championship in 2022? What mistakes lol?

[–] canadianRSK@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Honestly not really the proved they could still win a championship with the right team. Maybe they need to move on from cp3 but their core might still have enough in the tank to make a run especially if they get lucky with injuries or matchups

[–] njb2017@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Warriors are not making a mistake right now however the key thing is whether they resign klay and for how much.

[–] lobotomizedmommy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

the splash brothers r literally the only reason the warriors could afford the stadium and move to san fran. they already alienated a lot of fans by that. you can’t just completely change the product slap a warriors logo on it and say buy it. it doesn’t work
