No mention of detachable cable on those?

How do these compare to the 6xx in terms of detail retrieval?

I've been eyeing these for a long time, but I'm still weary for when that mounting screw will break (which is inherent for all of the Fostex/Denon headphones that use the same headband/swivel ear cup design):

Yeah it's a flawed design that Denon corrected with the X200 series but some say the X000 (with Fostex drivers) are still the better headphones.

I have a D5200 but have never used the X000 models so not sure how they compare. The build quality on the D5200 is really nice though.

Yeah. I own both the TH900 (this design) and Denon 9200 and the 9200 is built like a tank whereas I am always SO careful with the TH900, absolutely no reason they should be this fragile for the price they cost

Yeah, I bought the TH-X00 used and they sound amazing, but my pin broke after a few months. I bought replacement parts but it's so hard to get everything tightened back the way it was. The screw worked itself back out over a few weeks and it's a real pain to take it all apart to retighten that screw.

I've heard the E-MUs have even better sound, but I'm never going to buy another headphone with the same headband design.

Good to be weary but not an issue unless you really throw them around, drop them, or carry them in a backpack naked. I have had 4 900's and a X00, and none had any issues. I keep them on a ZMF headphone stand, and listen to them at home... Normal in house use, no issues.

Yeah, I used to have a pair of TH-X00 Mahogany's, and they were fine for the time I owned them. I sold them years ago though, so I often wonder if the current owner is still enjoying them till this day, or not.

With that said, my biggest issue with the TH-X00 at the time may have been due to the loose clamp. At least, in retrospect, this is what I suspect may have been the reason why I never got "dat bass" despite pad rolling and using attenuation rings.

I'm still mulling over it, but the novelty and appeal are not as strong for me like it was back when they first released. :/

As someone who bought theirs directly from E-MU, this is a great deal. I use them as a daily driver for everything. Easily the most fun headphone I've ever listened to. Just be warned that the cable it comes with is...not great. It works but it feels like shit.

Rosewood and ebony cups available too for the detachable, wish they had this before I got a th-x00 second hand. Love the bass quality of the fostex driver family.

Does anyone know if you can use TR-X00 cups on E-MU?

can anyone help me decide if these are any good compared to the 6xx?
