This sub has done a complete 180 from acting like Wemby is Prime KD with Rudy Gobert rim protection to acting like he’s a 7’4” Anthony Bennett, and it was insufferable both times

yea, everything is extremes now, noone can develop at any pace other than "he's the next jordan" or "James Wiseman".
Well he’s not a traditional big man, he’s an alien. Even aliens have weaknesses.

If it was any other coach they’d be fired by now with the mismanagement of Wemby. Pop must have direct orders to just fuck around this year. Sochan isn’t a PG, they are rigid with their rotation and minutes, Wemby isn’t ever given the ball in good position, KJ is a backup PG, Wemby doesn’t play with Trey Jones. Idk wtf is going on with this team. They drafted Wemby and are worse than last year!
Pop won’t have orders for that. Pop is given completely free reign. He has basically run the team for nearly 30 years. Everyone in the organisation is loyal to him. The current CEO of the spurs for example was Pop’s head scout. Pop was both GM and head coach, but gave the gm position to him to focus more on coaching.
He has a lot of influence but he is not the owner. If this is Pop’s choice to run the team in this way then he’s lot more misguided than anyone could guess. Wemby is currently learning nothing about winning basketball.
They’re trying to maximize his wing skills for now
He'll settle eventually, along with a proper Spurs core surrounding him. This sub is too reactionary. If he remains healthy the sky is the ceiling for him.
It’s almost like the Spurs aren’t playing a point guard who can get him the ball down there. One who has a net rating of 4.1 vs the guy they’re starting now, who has a -20.

We're overanalyzing a young, raw prospect on a team that might be the worst or second worst in the league. Who cares. He's already ahead of schedule IMO.

As of now I think he is still lacking a lot of size and strength, like looking at him, he's like easily 60-70 lbs lighter than Prime LeBron, a dude that is 7" smaller than him...he's being bullied a lot
The blatant tanking should be something the NBA cracks down on. Pop out here running the worst statistical PG in the league experiment. During Wembys 1st year development just lends itself to struggle.
Pop out here purposely preventing him obtaining rookie of the year. Trey Jones and Vassel off the bench is all about the tank job.
For anyone wondering, no this is not a reason for concern. Its going to be a long process with Wemby and the Spurs as they try things and build out the team.
