All those manager of the month awards are coming home to roost.

[–] ThotCountySheriff@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

it's r/coys and chill tonight lads, who's with me?

[–] Oriphiel1@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Tottenham deserved to win the game but by having full-backs as central-backs it is normal that they lost

[–] TL_DRespect@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

We were pretty toilet in the first half, much better in the second. The offside trap worked well. I really don’t know how we won, all said, but I also don’t care :)

[–] EVANonSTEAM@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

How a month can change so much for a football team. That’s why you never get too excited this early.

Idk man, When a spurs player gets Romero'd it's a travesty, yet when Romero cleans out and bout kills someone it's yeah but was a yellow mate, didn't mean it!

Romero does 10 Matty Cash tackles a game but thats fine with Spurs fans. Its not Cash fault that Bentancur is made of paper lmao wasn't even a horrible challenge

[–] bissoumapants@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Matty cunt has injured 3 of our players now. Hopefully he gets hit by a car on his night out.

[–] CH2001@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Okay lads time to rationalise why this loss was actually a good thing because of philosophy or something like that

[–] Merkarov@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Almost as if when we lost 4 or 5 key starters and had to play the same old culprits under our previous managers, we start playing seeing the same problems.

What sort of name is Postecoglou? Turkish? Romanian?

[–] Ohmygosh0@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

[–] Argo_Menace@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

[–] weewooPA18@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ratbag Matty cash at it again

[–] ThanksAllah@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

That was an entertaining match. Ange is probably going to cop criticism but it's not his fault his players couldn't finish. Another day and they could've easily had 6 goals.

People bantering Postecoglou but he’s been a revelation for Spurs. They’ve been utterly crippled with injuries and still gave us a hell of a game in the first half. They’re a million miles away from the team that sleepwalked to the end of last season.

Its not impossible that they’ll lose to city as well but overall, he seems like the right man to give time to.

[–] amordesexo@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Tottenham may never win a game again

[–] aldidot@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Mate mate mate mate you wouldn't believe it mate but Unai Emery's brilliant Aston Villa side went up to the media darling's backyard and utterly smoked them mate. They conceded first mate but then Big Pau Torres headed a towering header home past Big Ainge's keeper mate then Ollie Watkins grabbed the game-winner mate, oh my God mate unreal scenes to witness mate and such a dagger to the hearts of Sky Sports and every other UK-based media who hyped up these lot while the whole world knows these guys have losing in their club's DNA and their downfall was only a matter of time mate

People act like all chances have been offside which is ridiculous, if Spurs finished half the good onsite chances it's a win. They saw the game out cleverly, it's not always the better team that wins, but that doesn't mean it was smash and grab.

[–] zrk23@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

tottnum fans when other teams have injuries: ''part of the game, deal with it, mate''

tottnum fans when its their team: ''literally impossible to win with injuries dont you dare talk shit about us''

Unai Emery got on the Aston Villa seat mid way through last year and hasn’t stopped cooking.

Obligatory Gerrard is a fraud.

[–] fcGabiz@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Good ebening.

[–] Moist_Dark_7976@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Man, Gerrard was weighing that team down immensely, they look so different!

Always help when you sign certified bangers in Pau and Moussa, quality recruitment.

Watkins is a beast.

Watkins could be a serious option for Arteta, he's a menace.

Ange would want us to enjoy this.

[–] Moist_Dark_7976@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

In Defence of Ange though, I will say his football actually makes watching spurs intriguing when you compare it to the last 4-5 abysmal years.

They'll look really good when they have all their players back, Son looks a mess without Kane / Maddison.

[–] OPisaPhegg@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Spurs new manager bounce has ended. Banter has started

I'd say these games are pretty much a write off with the current backline anyway, brave setup from Ange which resulted in a much more positive game than the Wolves one, but unfortunately didn't pay off in the end

[–] Moist_Dark_7976@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Yeah mate, we're just gonna keep doing the same shit every game mate, even if we lose mate.

Can’t be him, we beat Villa at home under Nuno

[–] Emma-Royds@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

1st place is lava?

[–] LucasSummers@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Under Wenger's new offside rule this would have been a score fest

[–] Shuxnae@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Fuck Matt Cash.

[–] Dagur@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Played well but needed a little luck. I enjoyed the game at least.

[–] Jansiz@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Villa are cracked...

[–] Moist_Dark_7976@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Villa are on those Cracked PED Asthma type shit liverpool we're on.

[–] loveandmonsters@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Don't worry Spurs, in times like these you may borrow a phrase which has given us strength on many a cold point-less night: next year is our year!

[–] MajesticAd5047@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

That "offside trap" by Villa

[–] krakencannon@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Every time Spurs are offside a Kangaroo loses its wings

[–] NYR_dingus@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

We're back boys

[–] kwhicks@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Fuck me an Auburn Spurs fan must be in hell today. Whew

[–] LDKCP@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Ange seems like a great bloke but his refusal to adapt from his system has completely fucked this team over.

They are all gassed, too many injuries, playing at full speed for 100+ mins. This injury crisis isn't a coincidence. These tactics take their toll. He never had the strength in depth to maintain this and every injury compounds the obvious issue. It also requires players returning from injury to be playing at 100mph which is unwise.

Teams that have success playing like this have much better squads and know when to slow it down or play defensively when necessary.

Villa played awful today and still won, Chelsea played awful against them and won 4-1, Wolves were able.to keep going for the full match and deserved the win.

It will be fun to watch, but without better game and squad management this team will be lucky to finish in the top 8.

[–] Mick4Audi@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

So what he should have done is go back to playing the same tactics as last season?

Not seeing the Spurs players bring out their kids for a victory lap after a dodgy result anymore, really makes you fall out of love with football 💔

[–] Huge-Celebration5192@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

3 managers of the month and sacked in the month after

Surely never been done before?

[–] drakothedj@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Smoking on that Tottenham pack 🚬🚬🚬⚰️⚰️⚰️🥳🥳🥳🥳

[–] FCI@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Villa absolutely overwhelmed in the first half, game should've been over by 30 mins. Seems like the press really dropped off in the second half. December might not be too kind to Tottenham.
