Does icing a kicker even work? Kickers expect it, so it's almost counterintuitive to do it. Just make him kick on the spot with the play clock running down.

I feel like it's something that started before computerized statistics and now teams just do it out of habit. Wasting a timeout when you desperately need seconds before OT seems so dumb.
