I'm going to point out many european countries are on similar trajectories as the US if maybe lagging by a decade. Or in the case of the UK reading 1984 and deciding it was an instruction manual.

Not to mention, like, healthcare and affordable food with actual nutrition in it. And birth control. There are so many reasons America is fucked in this statistic, but the fact that school shootings is a big enough problem to make the list is pretty fucking wild.
