I think my favorite quote from the video is "You don't have to make a product that fits everyone for it to be a good product".

Made me chuckle.
Very neat. Though I wish this kind of thing would be possible to do with open source components.
I miss 2000's era Nokia. They had their flagship phones that turned a profit but also just did some truly weird shit purely to see if it caught on.
No but how feasible would it be to do it with like a pi5, a 3d printer, a USB modem, and a lot of pain?
You could do it but it would be enormous. Pi5 draws 10 watts when not idle.
very good video, although tbh I'd rather have a slab phone.
This is awesome. I would pay for something like this...
Itβs a pity that the industry doesnβt take more risks.
They used to but they never paid off. LG was a huge pioneer in the hardware space and look where that got them.
I agree with the sentiment here; I wish more companies took design risks.
I would LOVE to get my hands on a Huawei Pura X, but I doubt it will be available outside China, software concerns aside.
That is insanely cool.
He made a phone using only a 3D printer and a phone And a blackberry
Ive been wanting to get a https://www.tindie.com/products/zitaotech/hackberrypi-cyberdeck-handheld-with-q20-keyboard/ for years! but its always sold out :(
Would be neat if they could figure out a way to move the cameras to the other side the next time they make a phone.
