I've been using a pair of Taotronics Soundsurge 46s for almost 5 years now, and recently there has been more people commenting on the music I'm listening to or other things of that nature a lot, when that almost used to never happen for the first several years I've had them. I almost always listen to about the second or third loudest setting in my phone so I haven't been turning it up over time. I listen to heavy metal and lately a ton of brutal death metal.

Since I've had them for so long and I'm overdue for some new ones, they are literally starting to fall apart and the stitching in the cups has come undone completely. That might be the answer right there idk.

My guess is you’re right about the pads getting worn out and letting more sound out. Can you get replacement pads for those rather than just buying new headphones?

I mean the awnser is definitly yes, open backs start with 100% of their max possible bleed so it can't get any worse, closed backs start with their least possible bleed, so it can only get worse from there

When I put new pads on a Bose headphones years ago, they bled about 1/3 of how much they were bleeding previously. Shocked me, really. The pads were starting to show some foam/coming undone
