This was randys destiny ever since medicinal fried chicken: ‘buffalo soldier, in the heart of America, Randy look at your balls yeah I know right smoking weed right in front of a cop’

- Been a fan from day 1. Hate Tegrity Randy and I love weed.
However I LOVE Randy up until Tegrity tho. Top 2 fave characters.
honestly being a 13 year old, Randy is like my 1000% favorite character. Others like towelie and Cartman come close, but randy is just #1
Love him. I think young fans don’t like him because he reflects something uncomfortable for them. Maybe it’s the cosplaying farmer cum rank capitalist he embodies or perhaps it’s his narcissism that hits to close to home.
Randy is #1 Character, in all forms. From his purple shirt, to the hot tub, to the pot farm. All are Randy and all are Great!
I think ppl who 'like' randy is more of a 'like' him as a funny character. not 'like' as in 'relate to' or 'idoloze'
same with cartman or Mr garrison or all the other stupid assholes in the show.
a funny character that makes you laugh and that's enough.
I never got the impression that we're supposed to like him. I think older fans might appreciate the satire of the man-child alcoholic/pot addict whose whole life revolves around getting intoxicated to the point that it's obviously hurting his family, but can remain in denial about it because it's legal now and he isn't poor. Teenagers don't really care about that specific behavior but once you get to be 30 or 40 you start seeing it and its consequences everywhere.
I’ve always liked Randy. I think it is a generational thing.
I think people who like randy ate deep down like him or wish to be. I think they are either selfish and self centered or wish they could be but cant.
No. I detest Randy. Not age thing.
I'm 21 so I'd consider myself young and I love Randy. The whole Tegridy arc I found hilarious because I can appreciate Trey and Matt getting bored and wanting to explore different things like they always do, and now they're seemingly transitioning him back away from it over time
Tegridy Randy was fun for a while but should have ended seasons ago. Time to move back to the old house.
Nope it’s not time yet
I’m young and I love him. My mom hates him but my dad loves him. I don’t think it’s about age.
I've been a fan since day 1, so I am in the old group. Randy has evolved more than any character on the show from just a side character to one of the main voices. Sure, he can be annoying at times, but I absolutely love the character and think he's added great depth.
I’m not a fan of him, I like his character as the bad man he is (like Cartman is bad except he’s only a child) but I mean I don’t want so many episodes centred around him personally
I think I was in High School right around the time Randy’s character started to break out the show (“I didn’t hear no bell”) and I loved him, and so did all of my friends. Still do, even with his Tegridy. I think they’ve eased off the weed stuff a little bit as of late. In the Panderverse special, for instance, he felt like Randy, just in his Tegridy setting.
Fuck Bat Dad.
I doubt it. Generally, the most, or at least one of the most funny characters in a comedy, is the idiot father. Think South Park, the simpsons, malcolm in the middle, friends, modern family, arrested development, family guy, American pie, etc.
I totally disagree in Father's being idiots in some of these...silly and off yes but not idiots. Randy is an idiot and a lame character.
I'm a younger fan and it was definitely charming at first but...
Mid 30s ,Ive watched since season 1 premiered and the tegridy stuff was good enough. I loved it at first but it went on longer than I expected. Still didn't hate it. A good tegridy ep would come up enough to overcome the stagnation feeling. No regrets but at this point Id like the show to move on from it.
I like all the Randy versions, just like other versions a little more than the rest.
I'm not super opinionated on South Park. Mostly just here for the ride.
- Watched SP since the premiere in 1997 (I think). Loooooove Randy. But agree with many that pre Tegridy Randy was a bit better.
I like most of the characters as characters but I know Id despise them in real life, randy included.
I’ve been around since Jesus Vs Santa and I absolutely love Randy’s character arc. He’s had sooooo many great episodes and is responsible for lots of great gags.
Yes, the Tegrity storyline has probably gone on for too long, but I still love him because he’s so gd unpredictable.
I mean we’re 26 seasons in and are still getting some quality laughs. Not many shows can say the same. Randy is a big part of that equation.
Just focusing on the Tegridy Farms thing: I think it resonated with fans (like me) who are older millennials and have been fans of the show since the beginning when we were in middle school. We're prematurely world-weary and the idea of just going "fuck it, weed farm" was funny, even at the expense of Randy's (and the show's) traditional angles. That being said, I think it wore out its welcome for everyone which is why they've dialed it back, but I think it's still a way for Matt and Trey to get some distance from their own formula.
Mid 30s here. I overlook the times he's a bad, selfish father for the sake of comedy; he's always hilarious and usually relatable, just to an exaggerated extent. As opposed to Butters' parents who are just horrible, despite him being the sweetest kid ever, do you know what I am saying?
I liked seeing Randy's character develop over the years and become more of a main character, and I'm cool with the Tegridy Farms thing.
With that said, the Lorde thing never really landed for me, it was funny, but I don't think I fully got it.
I turn 30 in one week. I hate him. I would think older fans would prefer old Randy.
I’m in my 40’s and definitely relate to Randy. He’s a self centered asshole who cares more about his own happiness than his family but I would definitely be the same if I had kids as well.
Thank God you don't then.
Probably I'm old watched on TV when it first came on. Randy has to be my favorite. Towlie is awesome too Probably my second favorite, funny I feel like he gets as much backlash as Randy when he appears.
I’ve watched the show since 3rd grade in the 90s tegridy Randy is too much. I have a marijuana problem
He peaked around cafeteria fraiche. They need to dump tegrity at this point and find something new for him. I’m 42, been with the show since day one. Peak Randy might be my favorite thing ever, though Andrew Glouberman is gaining ground.
Randy is the best character on the show
i’m 19 and i hate randy and tegridy farms. i don’t think it’s an age thing. personally i can’t imagine why somebody would like this storyline but 🤷
i’ve always enjoyed randy, he went from “damn that reminds me of a friends dad” to “damn i hang out with guys like him now” 🤣
The show is best when it’s about the town, so being out at the farm removes a lot of that charm.
So my concern is more about the farm than Randy.
Everyone wants Tegridy Randy to go. He needs to go back to being a geologist. We were teased in the Streaming Wars.
Yes and no. Yes I relate to a lot of what dumb shit he did lately (not all obviously 😂), however it was his geology background that even drifted me to him. I feel like Trey nailed all the geology-related jokes from day 1. I also nowadays feel like my kids will depict me as Randy in their future and that’s the highest honor.
Hope not. Randy is a self centered prick who doesn't care about his family.
I'm 50 years old and I like Randy Marsh. I'm a female.
I've been watching since it came out, and I like all stages of Randy. His spotlight has gradually grown over the years, and I'm all for it. And since he's a grower of the finest herb like I am, I relate to him even more than before.
