Curious to hear Mavs fans thoughts on Grant Williams so far . He had a very promising start to the season and looked like he was in for a good year, but seems to have hit a wall. Were the first 7 games just a victim of a small sample size?

Grant is a guy, on this Mavs team, that will consistently show up on the +- than he will on nominal averages. That’s what makes him invaluable for the ceiling of this team because he can define the runs; much like Draymond with the Warriors, despite not being that archetype.

That's the classic Grant Williams experience. He'll have stretches where you're like "why doesn't this guy get the ball more?" and then he'll have stretches that perfectly answers the question. Just look at his shooting splits by month over the last two seasons.

This is precisely why the Celtics didn't make a huge effort to retain him.

The good news is he'll bounce back and have better months. The bad news is that this isn't the last time he'll shoot this poorly.
