The NBA In Season Tournament is almost unanimously seen as a success.

The NBA Play-In produced some meaningful games for franchises and even produced the Eastern Conference champions.

Do you think they add more assurances to the champion of the NBA Cup? Do they add a regular season trophy? Do they find a way to utilize the divisions?

Foresee, unlikely.

I hope that we can finally have a streaming service from a multi-billion-dollar corporation that streams at more than 720p, doesn't lag to shit and pixelate, constantly need to buffer and allows for private watch-parties amongst friends.

Also fixing the eye sores the in-season tournament courts are

Wouldn’t happen in a million years but it’d be cool if the NBA and g league worked like the premier league where the best g league team takes the place of the worst NBA team

it would be nice to add some European teams to the bracket.

Players are pretty vocal about the 500k bonus so, why not a 250k-750k bonus ?

Candice Parker said last night instead of point differential it should be overall season win-loss record at that point and I think it makes a lot more sense.

  1. Point Differential is confusing as hell.
  2. Someone is going to get hurt late in a 20pt blowout because they wanted to win by 26+
  3. It’s not fair to teams like the Magic who didn’t play last night and point differential was already locked in
  4. Essentially every game becomes a part of the in-season tournament

2025 add losers bracket to the playoffs just for more chaos.

Alternatively do bo3 round robin to determine ecf matchups before finals. Fuck it do bo3 rr for all 16 teams to determine finals, lets get nuggets wolves finals.

Well, the first thing they are likely to do is give it a better name now that they know its a success: something like the David Stern Cup or the Kobe Bryant Cup or whatever, not necessarily them, but something that makes it stand out more and less generic. I think they were holding off an attaching a good name to it in case it failed and was trashed before next season.

Frank Isola, who does Brooklyn Nets halftime postgame commentary on YES Network, suggested that there should be more trophies and awards and ceremonies, for instance giving a trophy to whichever team has the best regular season record, before the playoffs. More pageantry is fun and more teams than the Champs getting some kind of award, of lesser importance but still commendable, will please players and fans alike, I think.

There just has to be a bigger reward for who wins the most regular season games.

FIBA approved LED courts that can have changing displays on them during the game, some people in the NBA office are salivating about all the possibilities for this
