is he really that good?

i have no idea who this is but everyone says he's the number 1 pick and generational QB

[–] Jakethered_game@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Does anyone else feel an eli manning situation coming on?

"With the first pick in the 2024 draft the bears/patriots select.... Caleb Williams!"

Caleb - "lol, no."

[–] msf97@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (5 children)

Swear every prospect says something like this. Having another year in college just isn’t a thing anymore man.

[–] Temporal_Enigma@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It is when the NIL money is flowing

[–] fiero-fire@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I mean Caleb could still make a boat load of money staying in college with NIL deals but his stock will never be higher than it is right now

[–] Soaring_Seagull24@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I feel like a lot more people went back to school last year.

[–] AU2Turnt@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

NIL changes things.

[–] Mampt@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Pretty sure Josh Allen stayed another year, but yeah, definitely few and far between. And not a move for consensus top players

[–] pantherfanalex@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He is currently 7-5, and has lost 4 of the last 5 games. Is there ANY chance that he enters the draft, and doesn't go first?

[–] matisata@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

If the cards pick first, there's a chance they take Marv

There's also a chance a team is high on Drake Maye instead, although he also has his issues as others noted

[–] bmraovdeys@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Dudes a drama queen already

[–] KiNGofKiNG89@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

When he talked about wanting part ownership of the team he signs for, I started laughing. Thats a cancerous player right there. Dude could end up being the biggest bust QB of all time.

[–] lkn240@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He's almost certain to be the #1 pick - he's coming out.

[–] DrySecurity4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Mans does NOT want to be a Bear

[–] 70MCKing@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Andrew Luck looking at the 2010 Panthers: lmao nah

Caleb Williams looking at the 2023 Panthers forcing him into becoming a Bear: Fuck!

[–] tarallelegram@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

we go through this every year

[–] ecupatsfan12@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He doesn’t wanna go to Chicago or NE

[–] Only_Garbage_8885@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Chicago has a top wr, te, and solid number 2 wr. The offensive line is above average for pass protection. He starts anywhere near as good as stroud that city will treat him like the second coming of Jordan.

[–] DommyMommyKarlach@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

“Anywhere near as good as Stroud”, as in ROTY lock?

[–] ecupatsfan12@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I’ll go anywhere but New England- Stafford

[–] WeDriftEternal@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Theres very little chance any of this is true. The decision was probably made last year and finalized with his sponsors and NIL people. This quote comes from a fluff LA Times article that is about him giving NIL money to charities

[–] Crabacus@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

okay as someone who doesn't watch much college ball at all and obviously has a vested interest in Caleb coming to New England - Is he actually a drama queen with a bust attitude? I see a lot of "ooohhh he's crying on the sidelines or moping after a bad loss" shit but like... that doesn't seem like the end of the world to me?

But I'm seeing a lot of folks generally turn on him, half because of that and half because of his schedule and play in the tailend of the season. But the latter seems to have been relatively fine on his part other than that Utah(?) game since the Defense seems to have blown it most of the time, and the former... idk, nothing is standing out as seriously problematic.

[–] TheDoomBlade13@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Yes, he is a drama queen with a bust attitude. He has extremely weak mental fortitude.

The QBs you want from this class are Bo Nix and Drake Maye.

[–] ScruffMixHaha@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

YOU CANT RUN FROM US FOREVER CALEB

[–] StefonDiggsHS@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Spoiler. He’s gonna be in the draft

[–] jt_33@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Too much drama around this dude for an overacted prospect. I feel bad for whoever is dumb enough to draft him.. that’s going to be a wasted few years.

[–] Guhonda@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Caleb, Caleb, Caleb.

Let's talk. Does Chicago have a history of bad quarterbacks? Yes, we do. I'm sorry about that. But let me talk you into joining the Chicago Bears football team.

  1. The Bears aren't the worst team in football. That's ordinarily where you'd go as the #1 pick. But we have the pick from a trade. So already, you're playing with house money. We're probably only the fourth worst team in the league.

  2. Why are we so bad? Two reasons. First, our quarterback is bad. No surprise there. If you're drafted, that QB will be gone. Second, our coaching staff is bad. We expect them to be gone soon, too.

  3. So what are you left with? Well, we've got a #1 WR. We've got a high quality TE. Our running back room is probably a little bit above average. And after a lot of tinkering, our offensive line is improving, too.

  4. And if you saw the game this week, you know we have a defense on the upswing. That's so much better than your defense at USC, which can't stop the marching band.

So look, Caleb, you're a victim of your own success. The team that drafts you won't be good. But out of all the bad options, we're the best. Come on down!

[–] CIueIess_Squirrel@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Dang, you should be the Bears coach. Your motivational speech is great

[–] Guilty-Working6825@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

honestly man I don't think fields is that bad. i think he's a top 10 talent at QB in the NFL, but has been set up to fail by awful line and skill players along with atrocious coaching.

[–] boomosaur@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Caleb is a soft diva...

[–] MrShad0wzz@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

time to tank #crapforcaleb

[–] Doworkson247@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

He didn’t make 11 million dollars also got to include taxes over he made net probably more like 5-6 million

[–] Fa1lenSpace@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

god, shut up man

[–] koxawy@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Calling my shot now, Caleb Williams gonna be ass in the NFL.

[–] DinkandDrunk@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

He’s 6’1. That’s a dealbreaker for me.

[–] Burggs_@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

His attitude so far seems really shitty. Dude has a singular heisman to his name and thinks he’s king of the league. More heisman winners have been wash outs in the league than not.

[–] Chemical_Product5931@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

He can stronghold the team and get traded draft day. Eli manning did it

[–] ItsTheExtreme@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

USCs schedule is BRUTAL next year. Zero chance he wants any part of that.

[–] Disconnected_NPC@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

This. I don’t think people understand the risk he would be putting himself under playing another year at USC. Injury, looking shitty to some really good teams, etc… I’m sure he is getting around 10 mil in NIL money but he isn’t missing out on lifetime money.

[–] GoRangers5@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

And I'm undecided if I wouldn't settle to be Alex Daddario's side piece...

[–] Corvus_Antipodum@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

So he’s just waiting to make sure he’s not getting drafted by the Bears or what?

[–] the-whiteman-cometh@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I know this does get said by prospects every year, but I actually wouldn't be that surprised if he went back to school. He had some big goals in college and this was a nightmare season for him to go out on. I could definitely see him returning to try and make it to the playoffs, especially with more teams making it in next year.

[–] pantherfanalex@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

That NIL money doesn't hurt either.

[–] shittaco1991@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Caleb Crawdad doesn’t realize this isn’t fucking Savannah

[–] ravenoushippos@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The same people who believed this for CJ Stroud are going to do the same thing a year later?

[–] Skyline_BNR34@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Doesn’t want to go to New England.
