I told myself I would only get one iem per month, and I ended up getting three this month. The IE 600 and Ej07 aren’t even a week old, so there’s still tons of listening to do. The only other iem that I have my eye on is the Monarch mk3, but that’s still on back order on headphones.com. Other than that, I’m pretty happy with this collection :)

Is it the stock cable on the RSV ? It really looks beautiful.

[–] kalonzo19@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It’s the dunu SA mk2 cable, I swapped since that cable has 4.4mm

[–] Soggy-Ad7318@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

How do you like the SA6 MK2?

if i like neutral with bass boost signature, is rsv for me ?? hows fit and comfort?? tx u

[–] Sandepp@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

RSV is vocal centric from what reviews say. U12T looks like what you are looking for. U shaped signature.

[–] whitechapel6@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

tx u ! after having ier m9 , i just hope i have another chance with secondhand ....

[–] Indifferent_Demon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If you had to keep three which ones would you keep?

[–] kalonzo19@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

My beloved u12t, the softears rsv, and probably Ej07

Returning IEMs like that is a dick move.

[–] kalonzo19@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Wait how so? I wasn’t aware of this

[–] junbi_ok@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Because you’re treating your purchases as if they’re rentals, which they’re not. The merchant has to take back your used stock, give you all your money back, and the a) sell it as an open-box product, or more likely b) throw them away. You are putting them at a loss because you want to use Amazon like a Blockbuster when that’s not what they’re for. In the end, everyone ends up paying for this because the retailer has to adjust their prices to factor in these losses.

Also, you can and will get banned from Amazon and other retailers if you keep doing this. Abuse of the return system is monitored and they will cut you off as a liability. Then no more IEMs for you. Anything more than a 10% return rate is suspicious and will attract the wrong kind of attention.

[–] kalonzo19@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Well I’ve only returned 2, so thank you for letting me know, I won’t be doing that anymore. Though I treat my purchases with the intention of liking them and keeping them. If I treated my purchases as rentals then I wouldn’t have 9 in my collection.

If you’re dissatisfied with a product, why wouldn’t you return it, though? Isn’t that the whole point of the return policy, apart from broken units.

[–] AntOk463@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Returning stuff in general hurts the seller.

[–] Machinedgoodness@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Unless it’s priced in. But yeah I’m general everyone loses from lots of returns

[–] New_Cartoonist_8860@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Probably a better aftermarket for overears then something that goes in your ear

Why so many balanced output? Is your source just balanced so it's more convenient for you or do you notice an improvement from the balanced connection. Out of these 9 I think 3 of then are SE, and at least 5 are balanced. Most amps will give too much power for IEMs through balanced, so volume adjustments aren't as fine, maximum I would my IEM balanced is 30%.

[–] kalonzo19@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I didn’t know this. I always just assumed balanced outputs = better. I’m still a noob when it comes to amps and dacs

[–] jez_afrykanski@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Please don't understand it wrong, but I have a simple question - why this much of IEMs? How do you use them, change them depending on your mood, source material, DAP, DAC, headphone amp? I was always wondering, why people have ten or more IEMs/headphones etc. I can partly understand, yes, this is an hobbly like everything else, so you collect stuff, but for me it differs for example from collecting watches, because you can have some for different things (official, normal day, sports, bling bling etc.).

I do have one pair of IEMs and a second one as a spare one (much cheaper), if the main one fails and I need to send it back on warrant or somthing. I also do have one pair of headphones, that cover all my needs. The same applies to my DAC/DAP etc.

Just wondering how, when and what for do you use them.

[–] kalonzo19@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

That is really really hard question. I guess I just listen to a song, and wonder how it would sound on this particular iem. I only use one Dac/Amp because if I was worried about the amp, I would go down another rabbit hole. My original plan was to get an all rounder, the u12t, then one that did bass really well, another that did mids really well, and another that did treble really well. I know it’s not specific. I probably wouldn’t have so many iems if there was a demo place near me, but unfortunately there isn’t, so I’m more or less buying blind. Obviously, I look at the all the reviews, video or written, to sort of get an idea if I would like it or not. I agree, it’s 100% not practical to own so many, but I don’t know why I haven’t brought myself to sell them on headfi or somewhere like that.

[–] jez_afrykanski@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Thank you for your answer. I can understand, that it can be tempting to listen to something and then change the IEMs/headphones and listen to the same stuff with different signatures, but to be honest, how often would you do that? I totally agree, that every single headphones/IEMs have their strenghts and weaknesses, even to most expensive one, so to have a collection of best trebble, best bass, best soundstage etc. makes some sense. In this case you had a specific album, where you just love the bass for example and then switch to the right IEM. But then again, how often would you do that? But as I stated before - it's totally fine for me, don't get me wrong, it's your money and your hobby, was just curious.

My case is completely different, I'm in that hobby for over 20 years and had probably under 10 IEMs and 3 or 4 headphones in all that time. But almost never more than 2 at the same time, the second one as a spare, I sold or gave the older ones to someone. I'm pretty sure, that even if I had more IEMs/headphones, I would be too lazy to use them all, would always use the most "universal" one.

How do you like the IE 900? In general and against the rest of your collection?

[–] kalonzo19@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It’s the IE 600. In general I think it has some of the best treble out of my collection. It is extremely aggressive treble, so it gets fatiguing. I still need to find the right tips to get a good seal, with good bass, and lower treble.

[–] Renegade2u@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Favorites?

Possibly in approximate order?

I'm especially interested in the IE600's, what are your thoughts on those and how do they stack up against the others?

I'm currently still using my (retro) IE 80's and am in the market for some new IEM's. :)

Currently listen to mostly EDM / Rock.

[–] AlthusserAlt@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

How does the sa6mk2 hold up to the ie600?

[–] Gravexmind@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Having a U12T and still buying more IEMs is wild lol but hey, do you my guy
