watching people continuously rally around the most chronically wrong character (who's whole point is that you're supposed to disagree with him) is always really funny
South Park
Everything related to the animated television show South Park! (Images, videos, quotes, news, articles, thoughts, trivia, etc.)
People forget that the whole point of South Park is that it takes the piss out of everyone and every side, but ultimately has a rational message. It's almost a voice of reason
Dude, it’s my Bible.
I love the coping that Matt and Trey created over this. The left will never let this go. Even when they get kicked in the nuts they still cling to scraps on social media echo chambers like this.
Matt and Tray just want to piss off everyone, reading your personal politics into their work is pointless and frustrating.
Personal politics? Matt and Trey spelled it out themselves in the movie.
It wasn’t till this pic that I noticed the female chef pic in the back. Pandering at its finest down to the smallest detail.
This episode has been wonderful for finding channels to block from my YouTube recommendations.
It’s about nuance but it’s pretty obvious who is being made fun of the most
Whatever side you are on they made fun of you. Just move on and let ppl use it however they want
I love how south park is on both sides.
But, speaking of, the first image is funny to use as a shitpost, I guess
South Park stopped being funny a couple of years ago.
What is hilarious is people taking life lessons from it. That's beyond pathetic.
Dude don’t go into a South Park chat if your gonna shit on the show.
Gatekeeping what other people find funny... Dumb woke bitches really think we're as obsessed with them as they are at coming across caring. Stupid naive cunts. Palestinian children deserve to die slowly and painfully - that's funny, but not in comparison to how silly woke writers are.
Liberals in this thread are like "I'll allow South Park to exist" lol.
"Wailing on woke stuff all the time is pretty lazy, too." is such a throwaway, ironically lazy line that was inserted purely to placate the woke crowd that would have flipped at this episode otherwise. The only evidence you need of this is that it's the ONLY line that 90% of redditors talk about, meaning it's the only thing in the episode that was for them.
Sorry for all the hate mail guys. I try to reduce it.
Well, they just do that to cover every base, or to show that they thought a little more deeply about it. The main jokes of an episode generally reflect their real feelings. They're right, it is stupid, anyone who isn't wrapped up in the emotions of the issue can see it plain as day. Becoming so obsessed with diversity that you put it front and centre in every single movie really is stupid, and using it to distract from or excuse the fact that your movie sucks ass is just sleazy
It was a light jab but they're clearly calling out Disney for their woke bullshit... to say they were equally calling both sides out is an overstatement LOL
I would say that perhaps the reason many right wing only took the criticism of Kathleen kennedy while ignoring the one made on the "anti sjw" is because it is very rare that in pop culture, someone DARES to criticise the ultra pandering of Disney in a major production with budget, professional writing and voice acting.
This is why many of the right wing are so excited, because for once, it's not simply shitting on them. These guys are used to be insulted by the media, it's nothing new for them, but NOW it's not just them. It's also the ultra pandering of Kathleen Kennedy who is under attack.
You lefties are hilarious.
The people who are quoting the show unironically and constantly railing against “wokeness” generally aren’t smart enough to realize they’re also being made fun of. The same thing happened with the boys.
Remember folks being "woke" is just not being an asshole. If you think otherwise you're a stupid cunt!
I think both sides do this.
I feel like the message in south park is that these movies aren't bad because they're woke, they're just lazy, bad movies that they try to dust off by making them appear woke. Even if you replaced everyone with characters that faithful represent the original, the movie is still going to be a lazy, bad movie.
In most of these movies, the problem isn't the cast as much as the writers. Although to be fair, i would assume this too is probably unfair, the problems likely originate MUCH higher up.
In a less politically charged way to put it. Imagine someone putting out a really bad terminator movie, but then they throw in a token arnold scene to attempt to convince fans to see it in spite of it being a terrible movie. This is pandering in an attempt to cover up a bad movie. Or maybe someone is making a really bad james bond movie and makes it take place in Texas to appeal to Texans.
Yeah op, bitching and complaining about people is lame
Look at YT and most of them just laser focused the shit out of "lMaO SoWtHuH PuRk wOaStS wOkE sHiTes!!!1!11!1"
Man, this meme is pure, uncut Columbian copium 😂
You can do woke very right and very wrong. Putting a chick in it and making it lame and gay is bad woke writing. Captain Jack from doctor who is hot. That is all.
And you people are just as bad by constantly bringing this point up as well, get off your high horse. Thought I would be recommended some humour by following this reddit but this is the only shit that shows up in my feed. I'm out
I hate the straw man argument that people say if you agree with Cartman in this episode, you must also agree with all wild fucked up shit he’s infamously known for. Well a broken clock is right twice a day, and Cartman was absolutely right when it comes to Kathleen Kennedy. She’s a huge reason Star Wars was ruined since Disney acquired it. Also as far as show writing goes, Cartman was the only appropriate character to voice this opinion because if it were Kyle or Stan it would have come across as just stereotypical white boys hating on “woke politics” in modern movies. By having Cartman be the one to do it, it allowed the opinion to be exaggerated to the extreme for comedic effect, without tarnishing Stan or Kyle who usually find the middle ground and are pretty based when it comes to pressing issues or hot takes.
I've been watching South Park since it premiered when I was in 6th grade and I had to unsub because of how many dipshits missed the point of the last special and just cherry picked what supports their dumb arguments.
