I think both sides do this.

I feel like the message in south park is that these movies aren't bad because they're woke, they're just lazy, bad movies that they try to dust off by making them appear woke. Even if you replaced everyone with characters that faithful represent the original, the movie is still going to be a lazy, bad movie.

In most of these movies, the problem isn't the cast as much as the writers. Although to be fair, i would assume this too is probably unfair, the problems likely originate MUCH higher up.

In a less politically charged way to put it. Imagine someone putting out a really bad terminator movie, but then they throw in a token arnold scene to attempt to convince fans to see it in spite of it being a terrible movie. This is pandering in an attempt to cover up a bad movie. Or maybe someone is making a really bad james bond movie and makes it take place in Texas to appeal to Texans.

I feel like it is just common these days for Movies/tv/video games to blame fans when their product fails because they did a poor job. I feel like this is true even if they don't do the Disney special.

The people they put in charge of these products just feel entitled to our money and when we take it elsewhere, it isn't capitalism, it is being toxic.
