Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. For those unfamiliar with Plug & Charge, the feature enables you to pay for the charging session simply by plugging in at compatible stations.

The feature eliminates the need to pull out your credit card or app to pay every time you charge. Not too bad, right?

This makes me nervous... One of the things I like about Electrify America over the Tesla chargers is that EA doesn't require any registration/account to charge. You just pay at the station. Nice and EZ.

I don't want to have to create yet another account. Are we gonna end up where everyone has to create an account with every car manufacturer just to be able to use it?

It’s like a specific gas station requiring an account to fill up. Nobody would stand for it and they’d lose sales.

There are some gas stations where I know I can put in my phone number and get a few cents off, but needing to mess with an app instead of just tapping to pay would be insane.

What's wrong with tapping a card? Who asked for an app?

Shit companies wanting to collect and sell your data and trying to hold you hostage.

I don't mind having plug and charge available, but I would also like to be able to charge without an account.

Yeah, nope.

No-one wants this. If the base unit has a contactless card reader on it there is absolutely no benefit, and I would shun any charger that doesn't have a card reader of any sort on principle. It's complicated, invasive and unreliable.
