My gf and I were loooking for a romcom to watch the other day, she suggested this one.

I don't really know what I expected, probably something more along the lines of Mamma Mia. Based on what I remembered from the posters, I even thought the movie was happening in Greece, but actually they never leave Chicago.

The movie in itself is fine, it's a low-stake, enjoyable movie, but I guess I was just expecting something else.

My favorite overlooked rom-com is Mike Nichol’s “Down with Love” starring Ewan Macgregor and Renee Zellweger. It’s Nichol’s homage to the sex comedies of the early 1960s.

Thank you for the suggestion!

I'm not much of a rom-com person, but this is a fun movie and Ewan McGregor is great in it.

You look so…OLD.

This is a comfort movie for me.

It definitely is comfy

We just watched Steel Magnolias. Somehow I missed it for all these decades. Damn it's funny! Maybe it's just that I get the culture and those types of people. 🤷🏻 OTOH, my wife is Filipino and she laughed her ass off.

I tagged this as "Movie review", but not sure a few sentences really qualify for this.

My Life in Ruins! Try that one. It does take place in Greece. Freaking love that movie.

Seems promising, thanks!

I tried to watch it back when it was new but I couldn't get into it. Maybe I wasn't in the right mindset. Or maybe it's just not a good movie.
