Win11 not even fully done like Win10 was when Win11 released makes me doubt that rumor is going to be true.
I believe Win11 got 4 majors only and it havent even got an EOL date announced: https://learn.microsoft.com/de-de/lifecycle/products/windows-11-home-and-pro

My call: BS.

Remember this?

windows 10 will be the last windows!

Pepperidge Farm remembers.

🤦🏻‍♂️ Apparently Pepperidge farm doesn’t remember that that was in no way official, and just just an employee saying things.

Yeah but thwy wont stomp Win11 after 4 majors.
Maybe after 8-12 or so.

Do current versions typically get EOL announcements? I wouldn't expect it to make sense to announce EOL that early unless it's a product on some sort of cadenced release schedule

I am not certain about the consumer versions of Windows.
I only know about those pages since I started working.

The Windows Server versions do have an EOL in advance (search "EOL Windows (edition)" -> EOL Windows Server 2022).

Any other OS usually does. It helps enterprise customers make cost projections.

Good. I hope this poorly written piece of spyware dies out soon. Carefully read Microsoft's Privacy Policy and I guarantee you it will scare you away and make you run to Linux and other open-source software. No seriously. The amount of spying they do is simply unacceptable. Same thing with macOS (yes, Apple does collect a ton of data about you!). You can get Apple's Privacy Policy here.

This sounded unbelievable to me until I checked their release schedules in the past. 8 came out just 3 years after 7, and 7 feels the way 11 feels now (new, still seems like there might be major updates on the way, previous version is still very popular).

In the next issue of "non interesting tech news",

Rumors say Cisco is to release next webex version in 2024.

Prepare yourself for the non hype
