Ask Nick Wright, Shay Shay and Swagu
I mean, all I keep hearing them say is “weapons around him” while ignoring stats like air yards per attempt. Just seems like they are more concerned with promoting their own “against the grain” image to create controversy and drive ratings. Looking for more genuine perspectives.

win a superbowl and look great doing it, probably
Guys like Brady, Michael Jordan, LeBron James all have haters to this day.
I'd tune it out and enjoy watching him play. I'm glad he seems fully recovered from the arm injury.
I think if he continues to look like this in the playoffs people will accept him for what he is. In the divisional Cowboys game he really was getting carried by the rest of the team and simply avoided losing the game for us, but he's grown a lot since then and people's understanding of who he is will change accordingly so long as he keeps playing really well.
He is elite
Take out Big Dom.
To do it consistently over time.
That’s definitely fair. Steve Young was saying the same thing about him and I think that’s the most rational take. I think what gets most frustrating is when people become dismissive of what he’s already achieved. Sustainability is key, but it seems most criticisms seem to suggest that what he’s doing is still not enough.
obviously he has to win a Superbowl with a receiver corps of Quentin Johnston, Breshad Perriman, and one random fan with bricks duct taped to their hands
Right now, as far as I can see, there's only two legit doubts about Purdy:
-
Consistency over time. People like to rush to judgement about players, but you gotta give it some time before calling someone elite.
-
His play in the 4th quarter in a tight game. Not saying he can't, but most of the games he's played have been blow outs. Can he will the team to a win in a tough game?
Number 2 might be disputable - if you play so well you hardly have close games, it's hard to criticise that. It's like criticising mahomes because he plays so well his playoff games are at home and he doesn't have a chance to win the road playoff win record.
