By Courier Newsroom

Bank of America announced

Joining the bank at the minimum wage is a launchpad for a long-term career.

Bank of America also offers industry-leading benefits and employee programs for all.

Bank of America’s leadership as a global employer of choice has been recognized by many external organizations

this is just a Bank of America press release dressed up to look like a news article

Oh, yeah. That byline gives it away.

Contributed Report = press release

Staff Report = press release with minor changes

Courier Newsroom = press release

Ugh, that's upsetting. I have been reading Atlanta news stuff from the Atlanta bot but apparently some of it is this, I guess. My bad, thank you for information

I mean, before I worked in a newsroom, I never really considered bylines. "Staff report" and its ilk are clever ways of saying "Sweet! We filled 10" without having to pay!" while intentionally looking like we did much to the copy (oh, I still copyedited the fuck out of it and spiked more than a few stories on account of needing a second source for this to be in the vicinity of journalism ... simpler times).

This shit's generally stuff that should have to run under a "Sponsored Content" header, but if the advertiser can show a modicum of restraint, it can slip through, especially as there's likely no copy desk to spike it and run AP copy of an out-of-state quilting bee.

1 bedroom apartments are going for $1,400 where I live which would be just over 33% of this (35%) so this would be the bottom end for folks… even renting 35% is starting to stretch things. By the time I’m done with utilities (phone, internet, water, gas, and electric) I’m at 21,380, or 43% of pretax wages without counting in food/other bills.

$50K isn't enough to live on single in a lot of places.
