A place to share practical, durable and quality made products that are made to last, with an emphasis on upcycled and sustainable products!

Guidelines:

Things that are well-made and durable (even if they won't last a lifetime) are A-Okay!

Unlike that other BIFL place, Home-made and DIY items are encouraged here, as long as some form of instruction is included in the body of the post.

Videos links are not allowed as post titles, but you may use them in a text post.

A limited amount of self-promotion is accepted, IF the item you are selling aligns with this criteria:

  1. The item must be made with sustainable or recycled materials.
  2. If electronic in some way, the item must be open-source.
  3. The item must be user-serviceable (if applicable).
  4. You cannot be a large corporation.
  5. The post must be clearly marked with a [Self Promotion] tag in your title.

Car no go pants. Car go street, naked.

Is this why everyone wants to fuck cars?

Filson, maybe. They cost though. $230 for the regular version up to $500 for their wool version.

People really should start to notice how high the price of quality products is these days...

Always has been. People just forget to adjust for inflation.

If you are looking for cargo pants as work pants, military surplus is a good way to go. The US military (and i assume this trickles down to other countries) spends a lot of money developing uniform fabrics that are abrasion resistant, puncture resistant, etc. They also have reinforced knees. I'm sure there is a range of quality depending on what manufacturer produced what lot, but they all have to meet good standards, and all US uniforms will be made in the US.

That's actually a good tip, the weird thing so far I've noticed are the incredibly low prices, like too low to be true, is this just because this is a type of merch which lots of people don't buy, or because there are lots of fakes?

Everyone who joins the military ends up with like 6 sets they don't need, and they end up donating them. Usually you find stuff used, but there's a decent amount of stuff that ends up sitting on storeroom shelves for a decade before being sold to the civilian population.

Here's a decent place to buy in the US.

And here's a spot in the EU.

That's super cool! Honestly would be really good to find work gear, but also everyday gear, since 99% of pants I wear are cargo pants lmao!

Thanks!
