I figured it was already in the rules to not have promotional or advertising links. Tshirt spammers/scammers are so pervasive and saturated on reddit - they make a killing over there - and they're starting to infiltrate Lemmy as well. I don't want to see a bunch of Gearlaunch scam bots over here as well ☹️

- No Mockup Shirts - We want to see the actual shirt worn in real life, not just a depiction.
- No Advertising - This applies to someone else or yourself.
- No Spamming - Please refrain from sharing the same thing over and over again, and/or posting new content more than three times a day.
Thank you.
You would think. And yet no self promotion was the top upvoted suggestion and as of the time I voted had the fewest actual votes in the poll
I think the "No Spamming" rule means "Please refrain" rather than "Please reframe"
I'm not sure how to interpret "All posts should be of shirts only". Like, no photographs of people wearing the shirts? Just pictures of empty shirts? Or does it mean don't post pictures of non-shirt objects having text on them?
I believe shirts only means if there's is no shirt, there should be no post.
A poster or meme that would look good on a shirt is no good until you actually print it on a shirt and take a picture of that.
Roger that. Makes sense to me
Likely means no hats or other pieces of clothing.
Shirts only.
hats should be allowed, since they are basically small shirts for your hair.
self promo should be allowed if it's marked as ad, and the account is older than 12 months, and keeps it down to 1 post/month. update this rule to ban all ads, when ads make up for more than 20% of all posts.
shirt concepts: dont make a new rule, just because you dont like a single post. whats wrong with you?
