The leader of a gang of child rapists has nothing of value to say.

Well considering they're being developed by greedy capitalists exclusively for further private profit, instead of publically funded research for the benefit of the citizenry, we already know this ain't gonna be good.

And I say that as someone who believes we desperately need AI to address many of humanity's great crises... That are mostly caused by the the same club of greedy capitalists.

Hey, maybe they'll use AI to develop and ~~sell~~ rent us solutions on a subscription basis to what they've wreaked on the planet, the culture, and civilization in general. Wouldn't that be swell?

How the fuck does his opinion matter? Like, I'm not teaching him how to rape kids, their organization is clearly the expert in that field, so how about he shuts up about stuff he doesn't understand?

For centuries the Church was the cornerstone and guardian of western morality, even though it sucked at it then as well. So its legitimacy was established by fiat, and challenged in the late middle ages when enough middle class non-monastics were taught to read and could form educated opinions.

That said, since we have a long and well known recent history of the Roman Catholic Church showing questionable judgement across many matters (and all other religious institutions doing no better) the public doesn't pay them much mind, though through lobbying, they have a lot of influence over the government.

To be sure, if there ever is another Reign of Terror, much of the cloth will be in the guillotine line.

This just in: The Pope says things about stuff he knows nothing about to a group of people who have no idea what he's talking about.

Yeah, and old man in charge of the planet's biggest child abuse network. Let's hear his thoughts on morality.

It follows the money instead.

We’ve already measured humanity to satisfaction; we will ALWAYS be a greedy corrupt people set on hurting others again and again. History may not always repeat but it never stops rhyming.

So much bloodshed behind us, so much more ahead of us. Humanity is a plague upon the planet and all that cohabitates there, we deserve to be exterminated. AI ain’t gonna change shit in that regard

I don't tell you how to molest children and you don't tell me about computers.
