It’s a forensic breakdown of how the CIA, the State Department, and big capitalist foundations actively funded, promoted, and shaped the kind of Marxism that became acceptable in Western academia. They curated a whole intellectual tradition that prioritizes abstract philosophy over material struggle.

This book connects the dots in a way that turns the entire history of 20th century leftist thought inside out. It explains why certain thinkers became famous while others were buried. After reading it, you’ll never look at figures like Adorno or Marcuse the same way again. It clearly lays out why the revolutionary left in the West often feels so disarmed.

Pretty excited for this one. Amazon link for anyone who wants to buy the book (its only $10 on amazon and very worthwhile to support Rockhill's work)

I'm probably going to record an audiobook of this one after I get done with my current two (Anna Louise Strong - The Stalin era, and Torkil Lauesen - The long transition towards socialism)
