That 4th down pick by the Packers was not the brightest move

No way GB can keep the special teams coach after this. McManus left 7 points on the field and he needs to get gone, too. And Nixon should have been cut halfway through this season - every game he has another bonehead 15-yard penalty and gives up on some key plays.

Fire #25 on the Packers. Gave 15 yds on a nonsense foul, then stepped out of the way for a Bears TD.

While they are at it, get rid of the kicker as well.

packers really gonna choke again 🤣

Wow man. This is going from bad to worse.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 days ago

Sigh. This isn't as good a game as I had hoped.

Yikes. Bears coach gambling too much with this young QB's first time in playoffs.

Bears and Packers have only played each other twice post season. Record is currently 1-1

The one time the bears did beat the packers in the playoffs was the week after Pearl Harbor

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 week ago

That is truly strange for these 2 teams.

Considering the rivalry, that's really surprising.

It's not really that surprising, since they are in the same division. In order for them to meet in the playoffs, one has to be the division winner and the other has to have a wildcard. Then, the seeding has to work out properly. (Two wild card teams could also meet in the playoffs, but that is less likely.)

I think it's easier for two teams from different divisions in the same conference to meet on a regular basis, especially if they both regularly win their division and have a good record winning that first game at home against the wild card opponent.

Sure, but the Patriots have faced both the Jets and the Dolphins more than twice in the playoffs, and they’re in the same division. Given the historic rivalry between the Packers and Bears, I’d expect more.

[–] CatsGoMOW@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

I hope they both lose.

I want the Bears to win so the Eagles can exact their revenge on the biggest stage possible. Shame it can’t be the NFC Championship game

Where was that Rams offense the rest of the game? 🫣

[–] ea6927d8@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Or what did the Panthers defense got on after the two minute warning?

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 days ago

There was ZERO pressure, receivers were quite open, NO DEFENSE whatsoever.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 days ago

Woa the score is close at half time? I didn't expect this at all. Will have to watch 2nd half.

[–] baggachipz@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

I’m going to this game, should be hilarious

[–] jeffw@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Y’know that proposal everyone got pissed at last offseason where one team said they should rank playoff seeds based on record?

Maybe they had a point ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[–] Nusm@peachpie.theatl.social 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Y’know, the Rams haven’t been playing that well. The Panthers may actually have a good shot today to shock the world.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can dream. :) but Panthers are home so anything is possible.

[–] Nusm@peachpie.theatl.social 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean, I think the Rams will win, but they’ve been so Jekyll & Hyde lately (as have the Panthers to be honest), it wouldn’t surprise me either way.

[–] Mim@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They lost to the Panthers 3 or so weeks ago.
I'll be mad if the Rams pull that stunt again.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Dude! How's it going over there? Panthers just took lead late game!

[–] Mim@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 days ago

My doctor probably would Zell me to switch off the game. Better for my blood pressure.

But in the end, the Rams survived. Can probably only win against the Panthers when they play this bad.

Oh well, on to next week. I think it's against the Salt Pigeons? Hope we can kick them out.

Going with the Panthers
