What do people use for free live TV these days, especially non-sports events premium channels, and especially media centre friendly m3u streams?

I looked through all my usuals, and the wiki here and none of them seemed to work. I have an epg system set up already, ideally I would plug in a steam url into my m3u playlist where the tvid for the channel is, but could not even get web streams working for premium channels.

I recently tried out mybunny.tv and found it very good, i dont normally watch things live but the superbowl seemed like a good excuse to try something.

I've used FreeIPTV a few times. The accounts expire after 24 hours but you can make a new one every day if you want and there's no sign up, just a click of a button. I haven't looked through the channel line up much since I've only used it when there's a specific show or event I know I wanna watch. There's a shit load of channels though so worth checking out if you haven't done so already.

I also found it on the Awesome IPTV repo a while ago. Might be worth checking that out as well.

Nice, this looks like a good solution that could be solved with a script. The other solution I was thinking might work but would also require a script to get per channel url updates is from iptvcat.com

https://thetvapp.to/ is probably the best you're going to find for free.

All the best IPTV services cost money and are hidden away, usually with just a private Discord or Telegram. The one I use is around $40/year but they're not taking new customers (they've been closed to new customers for 3 or 4 years now).

There's some well-known services you can find via Google, like Apollo TV, but they're usually overpriced and just resell streams from a cheaper provider.

I tried thetvapp.to on a few devices recently and couldn't get it working and previously found it struggled with big sport events, it was one of my go to's. Is it working still on your end?

I don't use it since I use a paid service.

I also use an antenna with a HDHomeRun network tuner for local shows. Have you considered that? It's only over-the-air channels of course, but combining it with something like Plex or Jellyfin lets you stream and record live TV from anywhere.
