I'm just going to believe this is a troll, because I'm tired of realizing some people are actually this dumb.

[–] abbadon420@sh.itjust.works 32 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

This comment is offensive to my people.

No, just dumb as dirt.

[–] cm0002@lemmings.world 19 points 2 weeks ago

Could also just be a joke review, although not sure where the line is between "joke" and "troll" is, ig it's up to the individual lol

Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death, Is the man who deceives his neighbor, And says, “I was only joking!”

Proverbs 26:18-19

There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who can't spell happy birtday.

Proverbs 6:16-19

Yeah, no. Don't pretend you've never made a mistake in a post/email/....

[–] Syndication@lemmy.today 4 points 2 weeks ago

I could maybe give them benefit of doubt if they were sleep deprived or stoned and made the mistake for a second before fixing it, but to type out an entire bad review and take pictures of it all? That's a lot of chances for them to notice the mistake before posting lol

My mom fucked up a cake she made for my niece about 10 years ago, and we've made sure to tell her "Happy Birtday" every year since

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Awww, that's a really nice cake, too. Excellent drawing and writing skills! Not so much on the spelling skills, though… :)

[–] kaklerbitmap@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

She's normally a phenomenal speller (she devours books), so this was very out of character for her. Luckily she's also happy to laugh at herself. One of the many things I absolutely adore about her.

[–] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That drawing is pretty good though! Poor thing doesn't read well but she has an eye for proportion.

[–] kaklerbitmap@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

She's a talented artist. For a time when she was younger she scored her dream job restoring vintage wooden carousel horses, and went on to do beautiful colored pencil drawings of them with fantasy backgrounds based on their backstories and ornamentation. She's fuckin awesome.

[–] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

That's cool. I lived in a town with a wooden horse carousel and i definitely appreciate the work that goes into those horses

From the picture, we can tell that even if they knew their letters, they still didn't know how to spell "birthday" in any case.

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 19 points 2 weeks ago

You are absolutely correct. They spleled it Birhtday when it shuould have been Birfday!

Birfday!

Median voter levels of intelligence.

[–] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Even if you wanted the "D" to be an "α", you could still put the sting on the "A" sideways to make it look runic-looking "ᗆ"

[–] berber@feddit.org 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] towerful@programming.dev 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

i'm gonna be sad unless i have a 4kppy birtday

[–] bjoern_tantau@swg-empire.de 1 points 1 week ago

She wants the D.
