I am shocked anyone believes there will be tariff refunds.

Oh I believe they're going to refund the companies. They'll eventually bankrupt the government if they don't, and the government needs that money to keep bombing brown people.
I don't believe customers will see a red cent, despite the interest being paid out from our tax dollars.
I don't think they will.
Maybe bezos only.
No one else.
But I doubt it.
Trump is bankrupting the U.S. There is no money to refund.
If anyone is going to get their way it will be the rich businesses. They're the ones who forced the states who brought the case to the supreme Court in the first place to make the court system admit that the tariffs were illegal.
The rich want their money. We have seen repeatedly that you can fuck over the poor and get away with it but when you mess with the rich you end up paying with interest or serving jail time or both.
I bet a small portion will flow back to customers via class action. Companies that admitted to passing on tariffs via email communications, sales or cart descriptions or tariff line items are likely slam dunk class action wins.
I'll give you that. It's probably true. I hope customers get more than a $1.75 check in the mail due to a class action. Because class action isn't set up for this kind of thing. the fact that it's capped means people who bought these items will not get the refund they deserve.
Those refunds aren't coming to consumers. That money came out of our pockets and went to the companies. The companies have already been made whole, by overcharging consumers for tariffs we didn't need to pay. Now the government is going to cut them a check for the money we already paid them.
We could have saved time by just sending our income taxes directly to Elon and the rest of the problem class.
Some of it will. Any company that had a tariff line item or probably even any that mentioned them in their sales descriptions or checkout carts are most likely slam dunk class actions.
How is this not an even bigger budget crisis for the US Fed?
