Keep it out? Smith herself has been flying down to the US to meet with the Heritage Foundation. The entire thing is backed by US fascists.

Foreign meddling is what caused it, so I think not at all.

Almost certainly no, but that's a feature, not a bug.

No - the WHOLE THING is foreign meddling

I went to the Edmonton Gun show over in Stony Plain recently and there was this 6'4" fucker there, white mustache, walking around in a cowboy hat, full BTTF3 style duds and boots asking people to sign the independence petition. He was soooo obviously an American.

When he asked my friends and I to sign and we told him to go fuck his hat, he said, "what? but you're at a gun show!" Fuck off, dick lips.

There were a few 20-something donkeys signing and giggling away with him though... ugh. But mostly the independence weenies are made fun of, so don't give up on us here in Berta, please.

Can Alberta Keep Foreign Meddling Out of Its Secession Vote?

It hasn't so far.

We all know Betteridge's Law of Headlines, right?

So what if Alberta votes to secede, doing so removed their government from Canada without keeping the lands treated to the federal government? So they'd basically be evicting themselves not separating.

[–] grte@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

Well they would have to attempt to do so which seems to be a problem.

Oh, I don't know. A Vance visit might be just what we need.
