NEVER buy a vape with an integrated battery. It's idiotic on so many levels, and companies doing it should go under.

Battery not charged? Wait for a few hours instead of putting in a full one

Battery lasts a session after a year? Best hope you can take apart the device and solder in a new one

USBC port died, as is highly likely? Pray to find someone willing to replace it

Starry V4 is the best budget portable I've used so far, and sees the most use from me even though I have multiple times more expensive convection vapes.

Terpcicle is by far the best budget desktop.

You've already got people suggesting dynavaps. Don't listen to them, it's an overpriced and overhyped piece of crap. It sort of made sense to buy it almost 10 years ago, but nowadays you have far better and cheaper options like the starry.

I had a friend who had a dry herb vape. We smoked out of it all the time. Truth be told, it was really nothing to write home about. It really didn't have the same texture to the high as, say, a traditional joint. It was more weed for less high. Imho, if you really want bang for your buck, stick to distillates, oils, hash, and edibles.

If you want the health benefits without putting tar in your lungs, it's just a matter of scheduling a day where you can spend a few hours with a plate of brownies and some good movies. Homemade is just better in every regard.

I had a Magic Flying Launch Box. It's a very very bare bones vape, but it's also kinda cheap. Definitely not the best option as it's literally just a box with a AA battery and you control the heat by applying/releasing the battery from the connector, and it's easy to accidentally ignite the herb. Also doesn't hold much, but again, it's cheap and simple.

Just spend the money. Easy to clean, portable, very even heating, and accessories are common.

I tried using one for a while. As everyone says, I pretty much doubled how long I could make weed last.
Downside: The high is more subtle compared to a joint(/spliff) which has a more noticable "hit". I also noticed that instead of smoking a joint with tobacco, I would vape and immediately smoke a cigarette afterwards to get that unhealthy feeling in my lungs I've been craving. I barely smoke pure tobacco anymore so it might be different for me now but just as I noticed with hash in a pipe, I find the sensation of smoking a joint to be enjoyable somewhat more than the effects it seems.

I am using a Pax2. The efficiency is really good. In the long run you probably save some money compared to rolls because you need way less weed for the same effect.

Downside is the cleaning. After some uses, the vabe gets dirty and a bit clogged. But I don't clean too often (just every other month) and it is not the hugest hassle.

Juste read some reviews, watch some videos and pick one. There is a learning curve, even from going from one vaporizer to another, but hang on. The flavor and high are so much better than combustion. I will never ever look back. Also, you can make oil with you AVB if you want to.

It's ok, the high is different to smoking, very clean.

Don't really use it out and about because it kinda looks like you're smoking crack to the uneducated observer

I had a Pax3 for a long time. They’re solid devices.

I have a very early series Dynavap, an Epic Vape E-Nano log heater, and a Volcano. I've used the Epic Vape E-Nano the most, then the Volcano, then the Dynavap. I rarely use anything outside the home, so the plug-in vapes get the most use. If my friends vaped I'm sure the Volcano would get more use.

I also use the E-Nano for heating essential oil for making the room smell nice. If I had to get one and didn't care about mobility it would be the E-Nano. It's warm and cozy to hold when my hands are cold. I like the wood look.

The thing about tolerance though is very real. You really need to reset your tolerance before switching to dry herb. I liked getting a lot of high cbd low thc flower so I had something to practice with while resetting. Don't expect to get absolutely blasted first time out, you're getting only a few mg of THC per chamber. If you're used to +100mg from a bowl hit, this will feel a lot less powerful until you reset your tolerance.

The other thing I like about dry herb vaping is using it while it tastes good but stopping before the burnt popcorn stage, and using the vaped flower to make butter. So I'll get maybe 6 hits on a chamber, then make some pretty strong butter with the same flower.

Between the two this feels like the best of both worlds. I'll sometimes take a butter pat and then vape a bit to ease it in, saving the vaped flower in a jar to make more butter.

I got a Planet of the Vapes Lobo last year and it's been really nice. The battery is replaceable, and you can change out the mouthpiece so you can hit it straight or use it with a water pipe. The temperature control is very precise, and that makes it easy to save up the toasted herb for use in making cannabutter later. So: pretty inexpensive, versatile, and let's you enjoy your herb twice.

I move to dry herb vape in January 2025 and haven't looked back. My doctor recommended it when I mentioned chronic headaches 70% of the time I smoke.

The pocket sized ones I've tried have real trouble keeping up with a draw that most smokers are used to pulling. You need to slow way down. The one desktop model I've seen is a bit less wispy, but that format isn't for me.

I have the Arizer Air Max and the YoCan Hit 2. I like the Air Max for at home use, and it has a removable& replaceable battery.

The first thing I noticed was they don't feel like you're getting a hit because the "smoke" is so wispy compared to combustion. But you still get way high.

The second thing I noticed was that I no longer cough or get headaches from puffing.

Edit: I forgot to add that I settled on 180°C - 184°C as my operating temperature. I started much higher at 202C, but it tastes much better at lower temps, lasts longer (more puffs per use and battery), and sometimes the higher temps were coating the backs of my teeth with stickiness that made my tongue dry for days.

I switched to a vape about two years ago after realizing my smoking habit was doing my lungs in (I'm otherwise a relatively healthy person and noticed during my runs/walks that my breathing was too badly affected).

Vaping seems completely harmless in comparison, it feels warm, smooth, super flavourful,... bit like standing over a freshly made cup of tea and breathing in. I own an Arizer Solo II, it's a bit bulky and ugly but it works very well.

That being said I also dropped vaping since a year or so, good herb is hard to find over here so I order thc gummies from the nearest island and it works wonders for me.

I've tried an expensive one and a cheap one, neither worked the same for me as just combustion or concentrates. I'd have to completely reset my tolerance if I wanted to use one regularly so I gave em away.

If I had the money, I would buy everyone I know a Boundless Tera.

I swear by my Airizer, (first a Solo and now a Solo 2) When I did have a battery issue they were great to deal with and got a replacement to me PDQ. Not fancy at all, but work great and super dependable.

The mighty was the only one I found that worked efficiently but still struggling not to miss the smoking sensation from prerolls

I've used dry herb vapes for over a decade at this point.

I first used a GPen but then realized it was overpriced for what it did and so many others do so much better. The G Pens are all about branding.

There's a cult online that will try and tell you Dynavap or nothing at all. I own a Dynavap and it's full of shit. It's the dry herb vape equivalent of microbrews. Niche, more awkward, but can be a much more unique experience. If you like constantly refilling a blow torch to heat your weed up, this one's for you.

If you want a good dry herb vaporizer, anything by Arizer is great, anything by Storz & Bickel is great (but expensive).

I have mighty and my only gripe with it is the small chamber that can only fit like 0.3 grams at once. Other than that it's been great. Not my preferred method of consuming weed but definitely less bad for you and allegedly more efficient too.

Edit: oh and dynavap too but it can fit even less weed in it.

I've got a Dynavap and Tinymight. They both work great. I use the Dynavap the most often, but if I were more social, I'd probably use the Tinymighy more (can pack more herb in).

It is more economical in a sense because the herb can be used after it has been decarboxylated for multiple further use.

I found it more convenient to vape carts than to dry herb vape due to messiness.

I've had my TinyMight for 6 years now, and the only thing I'd replace it with is a newer model where you can more easily unscrew the battery door.

I see the G pen elite selling for $200 USD. I'd recommend to check out fuckcombustion.com to see what user reviews there are. There are plenty of vapes at that price point which look cool, but really aren't worth the money when compared to other options. And if you can't find many reviews on fuckcombustion, chances are it's really not worth your money.

My personal recommendation: Get a vape which can be combined with a bong adapter. DHV through a bong is a sublime experience, even my friend who only eats edibles will make an exception when I pass him the TinyMight + Bong.

I have 3 dry herb vapes that I rotate between; Fury Edge, a Dynavap, and a Vapor bros table vape.

Fury Edge is nice, but it does use small pods. This can get kind of cumbersome if you want to vape a bunch. I usually prepare a few and then switch out after I finish one. I usually use it for going on walks around the neighborhood.

I also have a Dynavap. This one is nice, but again a little on the small side. There are folks who are crazy for it and folks who hate it, as you can see from replies. I think it’s fine for what it does, if you go that route however, I highly recommend using it with an iSpire wand. This uses induction to heat the herb instead of a blowtorch, I have bunnies so I don’t use heavy items that get hot like that. It’s a bit pricy, but the combo is good and the wand also works with dabs. It is not very portable though.

The Vapor bros is probably my favorite of the 3 because it handles a lot more herb, but you have to have a place to plug it in. So this doesn’t work for portability, but if you decide you want to keep vaping at home, it’s a good option. They can get a bit expensive and there may be other brands out there, I just acquired the one I have from a friend.

If you're used to joints you're going to need something with power. Keeping portable, solo 3, tiny might. They're not cheap, but the cheaper options don't really compare unless you use a torch.
