Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Brother we're being humiliated by our leadership.

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 27 points 6 days ago

[america hurt itself in its confusion]

[–] jlow@slrpnk.net 56 points 6 days ago (2 children)

As a German I've been humiliated by that sorry excuse of a human being for a long time. Capitalist, egoistic, inhumane douchebag.

[–] rapide@piefed.zip 13 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Germany has known worse leaders…

[–] punkhazard@feddit.org 14 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Is that supposed to make us feel better?

[–] ZombieMantis@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)
[–] punkhazard@feddit.org 1 points 5 days ago

Same question :D

[–] rapide@piefed.zip 2 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Yes. At least you’re not majority voting for nazis anymore

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 22 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Actually no. "At least we are not Nazis anymore" isnt worth shit. Germany owned their past pretty well if you ask me, much better than the US with the confederacy or native Americans. They deserve to complain about their leadership in peace.

man, wouldnt that be the icing on the shitcake. Its heartening to think that things could still get worse.

[–] inari@piefed.zip 3 points 6 days ago

That's the lowest possible bar

[–] freebee@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Nazis never achieved absolute majority of the vote. Only after being enabled by the "conservative right" did they basically abolish the state and founded a new one where only 1 party was allowed.

[–] rapide@piefed.zip 2 points 6 days ago

You’re right, thanks.

German democracy isn't "winner takes all", it's the opposite, they need to form a coalition and nobody likes them enough to do it, so these numbers aren't as scary as they could be. Still, terrifying, but not immanently so

[–] raspberriesareyummy@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

One. Edit: Two, forgot Kiesinger

[–] rapide@piefed.zip 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

No, come on. More than one.

[–] NotAnonymousAtAll@feddit.org 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I really want to disagree with you, but Kiesinger was a literal Nazi and Kohl was blatantly and openly corrupt.

Shit I forgot about Kiesinger.

As a German, I was gonna write pretty much this but got baited to more direct insults :)

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 22 points 6 days ago

Blud, the United States is being humiliated by its own goddamn government.

[–] the_armchair_potato@lemmy.world 21 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The US is being humiliated and embarrassed by their low IQ, corrupt, no class, narcissistic president. Good job American voter, good fucking job 👏 👍. Can't wait to see who they vote in next 🙄😬

[–] Blumpkinhead@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

We were thinking maybe the Ultimate Warrior, or Jared from Subway. Hell, maybe even an inanimate object, like a balogna sandwich, or Melania.

Either way, the next season of America is going to be lit.

[–] RudeOnTuesdays@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

Well, Warrior is dead, so that might actually improve things

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 16 points 6 days ago

Conservatives at least in the US have a kink for humiliation. Just the most recent big example being Kristy Nome's husband. Which, hey; enjoy your kinks. Not here to admonish anyone for their kinks. Just for violating consent and making everyone else a party to it.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

The American people are being humiliated by almost everyone, Iran is not special.

[–] Limonene@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

Most of all, the US is being humiliated by US leadership.

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Incoming 3rd grade level and very personal insults against Merz and Germany from the Whitehouse in 3, 2, 1...

Why wait for the white house? Fotzenfritz is a corrupt selfish narcissistic piece of shit.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

As much as I dislike Merz, he has a point.

[–] ichwillhierraus@feddit.org 5 points 6 days ago

When even the dog of the states sais this, imagine how bad it is.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

More of this please
