The Far Side
Hello fellow Far Side fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips and one of those was The Far Side. These days of course you find just about anything online including www.thefarside.com where they post several comics a day and I repost them here. Just to note, the date you see in my posts is not the initial release date, but the date they were posted on the website.
The Far Side is a single-panel comic created by Gary Larson and syndicated by Chronicle Features and then Universal Press Syndicate, which ran from December 31, 1979, to January 1, 1995 (when Larson retired as a cartoonist). Its surrealistic humor is often based on uncomfortable social situations, improbable events, an anthropomorphic view of the world, logical fallacies, impending bizarre disasters, (often twisted) references to proverbs, or the search for meaning in life… Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Far_Side

THE LEGEND HAS APPEARED!
I don't get it
It's absurdist comedy, the joke is cows don't have opposable thumbs so can't use tools, let alone make them. There are other opposable thumb jokes in the world too, it's almost a subgenre of "animals struggling with human things."
I tell you farside has way more leeway to do this sort of comedy, because it's such a short strip so you haven't invested much attention span given the relatively high rate of pay offs per comic.
Personally if a comic has a certain amount of text to read I often won't gamble on it, I'll skip it. The attention economy predates the Internet if you ask me.
Its been about 30 years since I first saw it. It still bugs me.
Larson you wanker
His most controversial cartoon.
Wouldn't that be the one where a dog was dreaming about howling atop an overturned car and a bunch of newspapers pulled it because they thought the dog was having sex with the car?
Edit:

I think it is a theee way tie between that one, faster fifi! and the Jade Godall tramp one
I was gonna say the Jane Goodall tramp one too. FWIW, she liked that comic, it just went over a lot of people's heads.
I was here
- Pile of grass (pre-chewed).

All cow tools are 100% approved by cows, the bidding for the first item will start at 3 licks.
