Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Who is gonna lend it? The Fed? The banks? Mexico?

In context, the US govt has a shittier credit score than anyone.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 9 hours ago

More economic sabotage. They must not have confidence that they'll be in charge when the bill starts coming due.

[–] ViceroTempus@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

So anybody down for a 4th of July BBQ? I hear your nearest Republican is hosting.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 11 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago)

This reckless spending is intentional, likely promoted by Thiel. He wants to kill the United States, so that he and his fellow ghouls can feast upon the rotting remains.

The party of fiscal reaponsibility, everyone!

[–] TankovayaDiviziya@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

And I don't know how people keep eating this up.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 9 hours ago

The people who do are fucking idiots, that's how.

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 1 points 12 hours ago

Silly child.

Fiscal responsibility only matters when a democrat is in office.

[–] nuko147@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Meanwhile NASA's budget is an issue for some reason.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 9 hours ago

There's a danger that it might be useful to people who aren't rich.

[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 4 points 1 day ago

They need to stop whining and pull themselves up by the bootstraps, okay!!? Maybe less cappuccino? 😤

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 70 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I would also like to borrow all $72 billion, if we're doing requests now.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No problem! Just seize control of the government.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

He seized control of a 50-year old political machine designed to overthrow the republic, taking advantage of the alternate reality they crafted for their segments of the population.

We have nothing comparable in the opposition as of yet. The democrats, are controlled opposition They are not trying to defeat the Republicans' attempts to overthrow democracy such as it is.

We could win but we will not because we still trust the Democrats to run the opposition. Not me obviously.

[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 23 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Only if you're not gonna use it to do socialisms 👍

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I know you are joking, but what they use a lot of our borrowed future tax dollars for is in effect corporate socialism. Socialized losses, privatized gains.

Us workers are bag holders.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 9 hours ago

"Public losses, private gains" would be more correct.

[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

But what a bag it is!! And made in the US of A!!!! Frack yeah!

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Unfortunately the bag is made in China. Let's hope it's defective like everything else built over there by Wall Street that has pimped out or rather Enslaved the Chinese Workforce with the ascent of the supposed Communists with Chinese characteristics that force their Factory workers to work 12 hours a day 6 days a week. Yes I know they officially outlawed that but they still forced them to work it and just pay them less. China is a capitalistic fucking hellscape don't let anybody tell you otherwise. But I digress.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 1 points 15 hours ago

Party of fiscal responsibility only cares about the asses of underage girls.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

The Epstein class likes ass, and have arranged ours to be over a barrel.

[–] aarch0x40@piefed.social 2 points 22 hours ago

Don't forget without consent! It's not Epstein Class if we/they consent!

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Yeah, but it's not being spent on actually helping America and move things forward; it's funding PEDOnald's jackbooted thug army and aggrandizing the shart of the deal guy.

Therefore, in summation, and QED, it's "fiscally responsible".

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 2 points 14 hours ago

That's always been the thing for Republicans. They don't want to take on debt to help people, but if it's for the military or giving it to big businesses, that talking point suddenly doesn't appear.

[–] crandlecan@mander.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

ICE?? Found another one!! Right here guys!!!!

I mean yeah, the USA is insolvent already.

Of course any additional spending would need to be on credit.

Unless I'm somehow misreading that part of the headline

i did that :: width=50%

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 1 points 14 hours ago

It's more so that whenever anything is made to help Americans, Republicans demand for a plan to pay for it. This shit though? Not needed, for some reason.

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago
[–] fira@lemmy.today 8 points 1 day ago

Fuck ICE & the pedophile dick-tater

ah yes, "fiscal responsibility"

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Because nothing matters, and what if it did.

[–] ShortCIrcuits@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And im so sure itll be paid back too.
