There are flexible DDR pads. One can only assume their original pad broke and they rigged a flexible one onto the frame of the old one.
It's themed as futuristic.

Ahhh, one of the most popular DDR games was DDR Extreme—the comic title “DDR: Extinction” was right there! Hahaha
DDR Solo Cab.
It even says EXtreme on it!
I haven’t played solo in decades…
