UPDATE: we're back! But having a copy of your subscriptions and settings is always a good idea.

PieFed.social is going offline for urgent maintenance very soon! Export your community subscriptions now, if you want to continue using PieFed on another instance.

I don't know how long it'll be offline, could be up to a day.

Signal now does a reminder for you verification pin. Would a weekly or monthly reminder be possible for backing up?

Maybe a message like "We noticed it's been a while since you've backed up. Click HERE to backup an export." Where the HERE is an export.

This could be shown not as a popup or anything, but maybe a reminder on the side bar?

That could be a great idea. I think the best way to handle would be a sync system.

... are... are we back? Did we make it?

I think this was a loyalty test to see who would stay and who would change accounts. I see you.

It wasn't. Some people exposed in public a piefed vulnerability without telling the dev before. So a hacker could steal data. It is fixed. u.u

Sorry, I'm new here.

Export your community subscriptions now, if you want to continue using PieFed on another instance.

Uhh... you're coming back, right?? Or do we have to move off this server and migrate to another instance???

[–] rimu@piefed.social 13 points 1 day ago

Coming back, yes!

[–] Snoopy@piefed.social 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Yes we are coming back but it may take a while. You don't have to migrate on another instance. We recommand you using a backup instance.

We apologize for the issue and we are working hard on it. :)

Got this message to late to export subscriptions, does anyone know of an app (using Voyager on Android atm) that stores subscriptions / other data offline / keeps a local backup?

[–] Blaze@piefed.social 3 points 1 day ago

Piefed.social is back, you can use it normally

[–] Snoopy@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

Imo that would be a good idea if it exists.
