However, I really would not like a government job because to me it is just like stealing people's money because of the fact that the only way the government is getting money is by printing it out of thin air which causes inflation and taxes.
If you're doing good work then it's a valid use of tax money. Taxes aren't inherently bad, it's the misuse.
To add to this, getting hired at the municipal, or as local as possible like a county or comservation authority, will often provide the most benefit to your local community which may make you feel better about collecting those tax dollars.
The idea that government steals from people (in principle) is nonsense. The work done by gov't employees is no differet than the work done by Loblaws (Big Grocer) employees. There's almost always less value that comes back to us from profitable private corporations because the net income often disappears from the economy. Sometimes in Galen's castle, other times it goes offshore into the multinational black hole.
I am saying this as someone who is in a high tax bracket.
If you can do work the gov't needs done - apply and do the work. The public sector is there because the private sector can't or won't do all society needs for reasonable prices. Especially so when the private sector shits the bed in a depression, like it used to do regularly a century ago, till we built a public sector to wipe its ass.
Apply for every job available.
Money from taxes is not printed from thin air. Printing from thin air (without replacing old bills) causes additional inflation and functional governments only do it to regulate deflation.
I’d say go for it. Learning what they do will teach you why taxes are the best thing you can spend money on.
And the only way you can run your landscaping business is by driving a truck that emits hydrocarbons and contributes to climate change. And working in fast food is contributing to obesity. Your self-flagellation accomplishes very little. Accept the world as it is, and do what is necessary to achieve your goals, starting with making your life secure, comfortable, and meaningful.
If you want the government to change its policies, then join your local anarchist/libertarian movement, or run for office, or go stand outside the capitol and scream at anyone walking on or out (don't recommend), or make oodles of money and use your influence to hobnob with politicians.

Since summer is just starting you might be able to find a landscaper to hire you on now with your relevant experience and you can keep looking for another position while hired. It is up to you how transparent you want to be about that. Some people are fine hiring temporary help and won't mind if you find something better, others its best to hide your true intentions and just get a few pay cheques. Many municipalities have seasonal landscaping type jobs and it could be an "in" for you for other municipal positions if you have a good relationship with your co-workers, especially management or supervisors.
You could work for the post office. Then you wouldn’t be taking people’s money. The post office competes with UPS and FedEx and others.
