Just a thought, and no less nefarious for it, but I wonder if some of these are less full staging and known potential threats they purposely ignore and allow to happen but are ready to make sure it doesn’t go to far. The press conference one was way too comfortable.
Yes, it is another way to look at it. Best was arrested by the US Secret Service in June 2025 for a similar attempt and if the WH is surrounded by facial recognition, they could observe his approach and wait for the right moment.
These events have become rather common, I can think of at least five since Trump's term began.

This wasn't an assassination attempt. No political targets were anywhere near by, let alone Trump. This was a mentally ill man who committed suicide-by-cop.
This one is probably intended to secure the ballroom/bunker funding that is stalled in Congress.
That ballroom needs to remain a hole, as long as he's president, like the slumlord he has always been. He turned the White House into the ugliest ghetto in DC, that's where he can spend his presidency, looking at a muddy hole.
Watching the coverage, apparently someone pulled a gun close to the White House and got taken down by Secret Service.
One bystander was also injured, but it's unclear if it was by the perpetrator or the Secret Service.
Based on the quote from the SS, I'm guessing they shot the bystander. If they were shot by the suspect then they'd say so, this is how cops talk to the media when they fuck up to frame the conversation.
Pro-gun + Kleptocracy is an unwise mix.
