You guys are just crazy if you're surfing on any subreddit that shows up in the Popular tab. It's almost all bot/AI posting, the comments as well. I dare to say even the mods, Reddit is half dead, especially mainstream communities.
News and Discussions about Reddit
Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules
Rule 1- No brigading.
**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **
YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.
Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.
**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.
I browse r/popular but I've muted many subs (pics, funny, worldnews, askreddit, politics and plenty others) so it is a bit bearable.
Fair point.
I had a new account for a couple months that just got banned looked through my posts and comments, not missing it at all this time, I replaced the comic book subreddit with the comic geeks app, works better for me honestly and it's more positive. I just wish blender had a community here, on the open source reddit clone.
Said "covid shoulda got them" on a post about all the governor candidates being 68+, and that was enough for a permanent ban lol. Threatening violence is a real stretch there.
Reddit is absolutely fucked with the admins/mods now!
I posted a picture making a joke about all the rules I need to follow to post there and they deleted my post for mentioning the overbearing rules!
I made another one saying I need to be careful what I say because my last post was deleted so they deleted that too!
It's mad over there now! OnlyFans girls are allowed to repost and spam and self promote but no one else?
r/funny was my very first Reddit Ban, years and years ago, for the genius crime of browsing as "new" and making a quick comment on a post the mods didn't like, and I got accused of being a sockpuppet for a scammer or something
It’s unbelievable that there’s such a trope about Reddit mods. It’s like there all the same smooth-brained, nuance-less man-child looking for reasons to flex.
but arent all the mods not basically 3 people?
There’s an adage about wrestling with pigs
Too true! But still, it’s fun to go slumming occasionally.
Reddit's the best marketing for Lemmy.
Grow up
Found a mod!
OPs response: "LMAO"
Probably.
