Comedian Al Murray has written numerous books about WWII (usually with a co-author). Is there a sense amongst you of how legitimate his work is as a historian? (lemmy.world)

It'd take 10 lifetimes to read every book on this topic, so I'm not sure if I should use up my limited single lifespan on Al's output, as much as I love him as a comic. But if his work is actually solid, maybe his unique POV would make for a worthwhile read.
