i have one user with a local mail store going back over two decades. she searches mails all the time and has only once had a problem 'finding' something.. which turned out to not be in there in the first place, as it was in a different account only on her phone - thunderbird wasn't configured for it.
Thunderbird
Thunderbird is the leading free and open-source email, calendaring, newsfeed, and chat client with more than 20 million active monthly users across Windows, macOS, and Linux. One of Thunderbird's core principles is the use and promotion of open and decentralized standards.
This is an unofficial forum for Mozilla Thunderbird and feel free to join and discuss
It's gotten much shittier recently, yes. It used to work better.
Much like all search, really.
To me usually quick search is giving better results than the global search
Search isn't great, but also - there is more than one search function.

Ctrl + K for Global, Ctrl + Shift + K for Local, and Ctrl + Shift + F for Advanced.
Sorry, I meant the Android app! Edited to add that in...
I'm having no issue searching for emails even from many years back???

Utterly. Can't even search in message body.
You can though?
Well, fuck. I was just using it the other day and be damned if I could find "body" in the list. I must have been sleepy.
