Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

They should stop making ugly ass cars. Electric vehicles can look normal.

I think the iX3 is a reasonable step in that direction after the horror that was the iX. I think they’ll sell every iX3 they can make. But man I just want an electric wagon (Audi A6 etron not available in a wagon format here)

Making the pig nose smaller is an improvement, but they just need to abandon that design all together.

Definitely need to walk it back. No argument there.

You see the new iX5 with the dead fish eyes? Oh, also the only way to adjust the air vents inside is by going through multiple touch screen menus. As opposed to just grabbing and moving the freaking thing.

I cannot tell you the last time I adjusted the vents in my car (via touch screen) nor in my van (manually).

Try having two people who drive a car and switch seat and vary on the temp outside.

Dunno what to say. We swap vehicles regularly and the temps here range drastically both with the seasons and from morning to afternoon. Maybe I’m just indifferent?

We have already sold all of our first years allocations of iX3.

Their i4 is one of the most normal looking EVS out there.

“Overpriced brand that hasn’t innovated in decades falls short of lofty goals.”

Seriously nobody wants a Mini that looks like it got stung by a bee, electric or otherwise.

Not to mention, who the fuck has money anymore to spend lol

Incompetent marketing department.

Everyone in the world sells noiseless, emissions-free products but these people can't.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 4 points 5 days ago

Well ya. We are currently in transition from the old iX (now discontinued) and i4 to the Neue Klasse iX3 and i3.

If they had a reasonably priced convertible mini bev I'd buy it yesterday. But it doesn't exist and if it did it wouldn't be reasonably priced

They are releasing the iX5, which seems pretty feature rich and has some decent range, but it costs $80K+ depending on the trim.

That price tag is gonna limit the market a bit.

I really like my gas mini cooper but I looked into the EV equivalent and the mileage is trash at its price range. In the US the only decent options seem to be Korean made, which is a shame since the Chinese brands seem to be best in show right now (especially for compact cheap evs).
