ALPRs are a serious risk to your privacy and civil liberties. These systems continuously record your movements without a warrant, probable cause, or even reasonable suspicion. Your driving history is rarely confined to the town or city where the cameras are installed. It's typically shared with thousands of other agencies nationwide (secretly). Once the data is out of your community, you have no control over how it's used or what rules apply, leading to instances of misuse.

It's US only. There's literally nothing, not a single dot, anywhere else in the world. I mean we have these devices elsewhere, and if this was open to participation globally there should be a few more. I wonder why that is.

That link seems to be all cameras? I see them all over the place, away from roads, seem to be security cameras? Despite the name it doesn't seem like they are all flock cameras or even tracking cameras?

Edit: oh I see, there is a key and the ones I'm looking at are just "other surveillance".

It's interesting how a lot of Walmarts, Lowes, and Home Depots have at least 3 cameras each

It appears that Seattle has acquired a few. There is one near me. I'm going to do something about it. Anyone else? How about someone in Montlake take care of the ones at Interlaken? Beacon Hill and Mount Baker neighborhoods need a little love, too.
