Well with movies he was in last decade it is not that high bar
The best actual script he was handed was either Iron Giant or Saving Private Ryan. He has some perspective on what's actually good. He just chooses scripts where directors replace dialog with loud noises.
Maybe he has read a lot of script that were way better, but there wasn't as much money in them so he didn't do em?

It's an incredible script! Itll pay for his new kitchen renovation. It'll buy him some new sports cars. It'll let him buy a boat. Fantastic script!

It probably seems really good when the last few scripts he read just had him saying "I am Groot" for 90 minutes.
To be fair, he recorded the voice in 15 different languages for the international versions.
He said best in decades, but i read better then anything since Tokyo Drift. I so much hope I'll agree with him.
